I think both, but if I had to choose one I would choose Tim Duncan because Duncan is what got pop over the top. Great post, 8th. I really enjoyed reading your post to David Stern. I didn't realize we were the same age, where do you go to school??

That's cool. A friend of mine went to WVU for a semester, but had to come back to NY, where I am from, for personal reasons. He said it was awesome down there.

Yea. Its an awesome place. Alot like Kentucky from what I have seen. We have a good community atmosphere here in WV. It really shows when the state is in a time of need. Take the mining incident for example. Bob Huggins took food and WVU shirts to the miner's families. He sat with them, outside the mine, had home made spaghetti, and spoke with them like they were his old friends. He is a WV native and it is shown in his actions. I dont know if there is a state that supports their universities more that WV does. If you can ever live here, do it. It is amazing.

I'll be honest until this year I never respected Huggins for his inability to graduate players, still have a problem with that. Though, when it comes to other people, he is a good person.

Is it really is responsibility to graduate players?? I mean you can only help someone so much if they dont want to help themselves. Back when he was at Cincy, he recruited ball players not students. It was their responsibility to go to class. Huggins can only do so much without actually escorting every player to class and making sure they go. He has always held study hall before and after practice.

It his not his responsibility to graduate players, but you don't know if he was getting standards to be lowered for certain recruits to get in. I am someone who wants to be a future high school basketball coach (sorry college athletics too dirty for me), but I want to make sure all of my players are academically equipped to be able to do well in college. Huggins has no control over a players smarts, but he has to be able to tell them there is more to life than basketball the way he was with Da'Sean Butler in the final four is the way he should be with his players about life after basketball as well to help them, I believe he can.

I'd have to go with Timmy!!! Only because outside of him, they have no post threat or inside scoring. He makes the system work. Although, I believe Pop would be nearly as big a loss as Duncan.

So you think that for some reason he didnt tell them that? Apparently you dont know the man. I have had personal conversations with him about this very topic. He said that he didnt recruit students, he recruited players. He made sure that they were eligible to play ball but nothing beyond that. He cared for all of these guys. If you dont believe me, call Kenyon Martin, Jason Maxiell, Steve Logan, Nick Van Exel. They will all tell you that they loved this guy like a father figure. He is a coach, not an academic counselor. Cincy still doesnt have good graduation rates. They didnt before he got there, and they dont after he is gone.

No I don't know the man. Don't take my comments the wrong way because I do believe he is a good man, but there is no reason he can't do more is all I am saying.

No I know. Im not taking it the wrong way. Im just saying that the way the media has portrayed Huggins is wrong. He doesnt care but it bothers me because he is a great man. He actually told me to transfer and walk on so that I could travel with the team and be around the coaching, because when I first met him I told him that one day, I would have his job. It was a very nice gesture but I declined to stay closer to home. And, I am playing at my school. I wanna play in games and not just practice with the team. I play with them every summer and I respect Huggins more than almost anyone I have ever met.

That is quite a gesture. I believe this with a lot of coaches that they're a lot cooler off the camera than they are on camera. Bob Knight is another example, Bob Huggins is no Bob Knight, but he is a great coach, Huggins. What division do you play ball for?? Playing college ball sure is impressive.

8th, I think RC Buford should have been added as well the more I think about it. I mean you look at everyone the spurs have drafted and signed it's almost unfair.

8th, not a problem. I am planning on training over the summer and get into good shape to play for my school's club basketball team, I go to Hofstra, it's on Long Island, NY. I don't know if you ever heard of it before. Hofstra may play WVU next season in the PR Shootout, something I am very pumped for.

I played in an AAU tourney in Long Island. Some HS around there. I think they were giving me like 400 dollars a semester. I couldnt afford it. I hope ya make the team man.

Wait you almost went to Hofstra??? That would not make any sense because Hofstra is a private school. If you give me the town name, I could figure it out.

I never went to the school or anything. This guy that said he was a recruit talked to me and said that they could offer me 4-500 dollars a semester to play. He said it was expensive though. I looked into it and stuff but I decided to stay at home.

I dont remember where we were. I was gone for like 5 weeks playing all over the place up there. We played in Connecticut, Maryland, Penn, NYC. It was like 3 or 4 years ago..

I used to think that about dunking but when I did it, the wow was gone. JR can defiantly put up some numbers. He doesnt care if he misses 10 in a row, if he is open, he is shooting. I like that mentality and its hard for some people to be able to brush that off.

JR Smith drives me nuts b/c he has all the skills to be an all-star, but just likes to score and shoot at will. Good mentality, but he is more than a scorer, but doesn't expand his game.

Rudeboy, it looks like you give yourself a point every time you post. Everyone says the points system doesnt matter but I guess to some people it does. I actually have never given myself a point. I swear to my cult. . . I can honestly say that you give yourself points every time you post. Even when your post has just gone up, it already has a point.
