NBA Playoff Thread

New York City has AMAZING food period. I visited last Spring break and I'm thinking about living there when I get out on my own.....Just because of the food.

I think I could order ostrich tonsils or something stupid, and I'd want more.

Tezo, I would think anytime is a good time to visit New York. Though for you I would say anytime between November and March considering that's when College basketball is in session and there's always a game being played somewhere, even if it's a high school game as well.

its on the cooking channel. It has that fat guy with the blonde hair who goes all over the country to little hole in the wall restraunts and he watches them make their food. There is a DDD book and he even does comercials for TGI Fridays. Has no one else heard of Diners drive ins and dives?

I think Jennings will come a few points short of breaking the record. I don't think he'll be as hot as he was in the 3rd quarter. I've seen that happen to him this season... Vs the Clippers. He couldn't miss in the 3rd and then just went cold in the 4th.

Basketball is such a game of runs... The Hawks will take some crap for giving up a 24 point lead, but they'll still get the W here.

KG started it. He elbowed quentin because Q was asking if Pierce was okay. KG is always playing tough guy and since he doesnt dominate on the court anymore, i guess he figures he needs to be an enforcer.

I like KGs intensity, and I like him as a player, but i've always wanted to see someone straight punch him in face...he plays the tough guy way to much, 99% of the time for no reason at all

Am I the only person that HATES Paul Pierce and the way he always biitches when he gets hurt. I hate that face he makes when he fakes an injury. It's almost like he's about to cry. And then he is fine like 30 seconds later. Really chaps my ass

yep iggy....Lakers vs Celts in finals, pierce acts like he breaks his leg and then 3 mins later he is running out the tunnel...I also hate how he over exaggerates when he gets fouled

Ty Lawson could very well be the fastest person on Earth right now lol. I thought his speed was slightly overrated in college, but his speed looks unreal in NBA games. I don't know what the difference is.

JR Smith is keeping the Jazz in the game and at times has allowed them to take leads. He's forcing drives, taking and missing his jumpers, and playing somewhat lazy D. They need to take him out for a while.

OKC trying to make it competitive. Their 2nd unit is out playing LA's.

I get a kick when coaches think they can put a bigger defender on Kobe. Denver thought they could do that with Kenyon Martin a few years ago.

This game could very well turn out to be like last year's first playoff game the Blazers and Rockets played. The team that lacked experience didn't start out strong.

Kobe always makes the hard shots, but misses open spot up. It's the darnest thing.

Bynum has looked very,very good. He threw Krstic in the basket, and he threw the ball in too.

Durant is super gifted. But he's bothered by thephysical conact Artest is throwing at him.

ture iggy, this year when kobe shoots wide open with his feet set, i always think its gonna miss. But off balance fading with a hand in his face i think is cash each time.

Lakers let them right back in. They played great that first quarter so my guess is that the lakers who let them back in the game is probably closer to what they will give in the second half.

are these those superstar calls phil was talking about? I know when a guy reaches and you swing the ball through their arms you get the call. But Durant is swinging the ball rigth into rons body and getting the call.

Phil is whining about superstar calls when he has Kobe Bryant on his team, and he's the same guy who's had Michael Jordan on the team.

Kobe and Jordan = Bonafied superstars.

Kevin Durant = Superstar talent who's playing his first playoff game.

Big difference. Durant is getting the type of calls that superstars who've won rings get.

A superstar is a superstar no matter how many rings.. If you put Durant right now on those 1999-2003 Lakers teams with Shaq and take out Kobe, They would have won maybe 4 or 5 rings.

Also with your ring analogy, you're telling me that Derek Fisher is better than Gary Payton because he won more rings.

dwade, that is entirely speculation. We could say that if kobe was on the thunder they would not be the 8th seed. We could say lebron would have 6 titles if he played with prime shaq. We could say lots of things. Kobe was all first team defense and was a great distrubtor back then while getting 25+ppg. If you think Durant would have gottne them more titles, i disagree.

I'm saying that there's a difference between a superstar talent who's playing his first playoff game in his third season and a superstar who's been to the playoffs, won games, won series', made it the finals and won rings. LeBron and Durant aren't the same superstar.

They are both very good basketball players and if they are fouled, they should get the call.

I disagree. Obvious fouls are fouls and should be called, but some fouls aren't obvious and you get the benefit of the doubt by the refs. KD is getting too many of those when he hasn't won anything.

KD plays aggressive and should be awarded, but he's getting too many of those benefit of the doubt calls.

not pretty, but they held onto a lead throughout and got some solid play off the bench.

Good showing from Bynum off of the injury. He didn't look rusty at all. Farmar shot well off of the bench. Lamar was solid. Fisher got tore up on D, but made some good shots this game. Artest didn't shoot well, but played great D on Durant. Like you said... It wasn't pretty, but a solid win to start the series.

jameer nelson coming out hot and the magic have opened up a nine point lead. charlotte cant give up bunches of points like that or they have no chance because they wont score like orlando.

and adding to to last nights post. i also dislike paul pierce and the celtics in general. i only really like ray allen on that team and tony allen is cool too but i cant stand anyone else.
