NBA Playoff Thread
kenny and barkley are talking about kobe needs to stop shooting so much and his percentage his down. I think he shot fine tonight he had a couple shots rim out and about 6-7 misses where he was forcing it in traffic and either got blocked or contested into misses. He shot 6-12 in the second half and scored 25. Kobe is not gonna start playing passive becasue of some porr shooting numbers.
They are saying that when they play teams like the Nuggets and Mavericks, teams that have good defense and very good on ball defenders.. Chauncey Billups, Arron Afflalo, Caron Butler, Shawn Marion. He needs to be passive. He should make this series easier on himself by giving it downlow to his bigs who obviously have an advantage.
KObe will choose his spots. Other then driving into traffic, i didnt see him taking bad shots. But yeah, i have been saying they need to work it inside more. Pau and bynum are difference makers.
No shot Kobe takes is a bad shot.. I'd rather he shoot a fade away 25 footer for the win with 2 hands in his face than having Quentin Richardson shoot a wide open 3 when you're up by 25 with 10 seconds left.
*sarcasm*
I got into a debate with this dude at work today about who's better between Noah and Varejao. I think Noah is significantly better. They're both similar, but I just think Noah is better.
What separates the two players?
I find Noah to be more skilled, as well as a center who can bang with bigger guys. I just see Varejao as an energy guy whose a Power Forward, but those guys are a dime a dozen.
Ha ha. I agreed with you lol. It's exactly what I told the dude actually. I said that Noah was more skilled. What do you think Noah is more skilled at?
Bulls looking good to start this game by the way.
Like Knicksfan said, Noah is far more skilled. He can play both big positions and his IQ is through the roof. I have never seen Varejao run a fastbreak and throw an oop from the 3 point line. Noah also is a very good passer and a better offensive rebounder.
I don't really think it is even close. Noah is also a leader, especially on the vocal end. He was the leader of the Gator team that won back to back.
I read a great article that said Rose is the most talented player on the team but Noah is the most important. They went 0-10 with him sidelined remember.
I think Noah is more skilled too. You're 100% right about his passing and leadership. I told the dude that Noah has more skill in one finger than Varejao had in his entire body lol.
A few notes about the game... James Johnson cannot guard LeBron, but you have to love the way he competes. He's not afraid of LeBron.
I used to think Rose would never be a three-point shooter, but I'm starting to believe he can become a respectable shooter from that range.
I forgot about about the NFL Draft lol.
Sam Bradford goes #1... I don't know if I like that pick. He's just as fragile as their ex quarterback Marc Bulger.
i wonder if the raiders will pick a back up kicker at #8
OH NO lol... I root for the Colts. I'm loyal. I do keep up with all teams in the NFL though. I know Marc Bulger was always injured for the Rams. Bradford didn't show a lot of durability in college.
Oh okay, just the way you wrote it came off as you were a fan of the Rams, that's all. I misinterpreted it. I am a Giants fan, but I don't have the love for football like I used to, now strictly basketball.
I've only rooted for two other teams in my life and they were the Cowboys... The Smith, Aikman and Irvin days and Detroit when they had Sanders.
I don't keep up with the NFL as much as I used to. My fiance actually said something about that the other day... She goes, "I can tell you're not as interested in the NFL anymore since you haven't bought a Madden game for about three years" lol.
Very good start for the Bulls though. They just have to do a better job defending the three-pointer. They gave up four to Moon last game. I know that's tough when the whole D collapses due to LeBron, but they have to find a way to defend it.
Seriously, man the NFL just isn't the same, football as a whole. I just find football a depressing sport, not like basketball you play once a week and if you lose it just sucks lingers the whole week.
OT: Does Ms. Tezo know a lot about Basketball, was she an athlete, etc??
Lol yea... You lose in football and you think about it the whole week. Nothing worst than a Colts loss on Sun and then having to go to work Mon with that bad taste in your mouth. You lose in basketball and there's another game the next day. Win that and you feel good again lol.
Lol she's not very athletic, but she played basketball. She grew up in a little town up North and played for her high school. I tease her all of the time because she's tall, but can't jump. I tell her I could slide a credit card under her feet lol.
As long as your happy that's what matters most, but she seems to accept your love for basketball and other sports. Hopefully I find a women like that one day...one day. I like that slide a credit card under her feet, good one.
We share that same love for the game. She coaches for a local college close to her hometown. She's a sports junkie just like me. We have a fun competition at damn near everything... Basketball, swimming, bowling... Even Nintendo Wii bowling lol. I had a great time at Indiana State, but that's the main reason I'm happy I went... That I met her! Anyway...
Chicago up 11 at the half. We know Cleveland's going to make a run. We'll see if Chicago can weather the storm.
I think Chicago going to weather the storm, but I see Cleveland buckling down and winning in 5. Good to know Tezo, that's good. You only played 2 years at ISU, you went JUCO first, right?
C-Webb thinks OKC will beat the Lakers tonight and Durant is going to kill them. Should be interesting.
Yea, you're right. I went to Vincennes JUCO my first two and then ISU my 2nd two.
Does anyone find it humorous when these guys about to get paid millions of millions of dollars are crying, I know it's emotional, but what are they crying about. If it's getting drafted by the Browns, it is justified.
All the hard work put in... A dream they've had since their childhood and finally achieving it. Or they could've grown up poor/struggling and are now probably set for the rest of their life and able to take care of their families, etc. Those things can be tear jerkers for some.
so lets hear you call it, lakers or thunder?
66-47...what?!
please hold on. Great defense and taking care of the ball. Only 3 turnovers so far, 4 all of last game.
Hinrich is playing big and Noah is grabbing all the boards.
The Thunder's crowd will be crazy since it's their first playoff game, but I think the Lakers will win in a close game. Either that, or the Thunder will beat them convincingly. IF the Lakers lose tonight, I think they'll win game four and then close the series out in LA.
Missed three by Rose. Blocked shot and technical on Gibson. Missed jump shot over two people by Deng. Another missed jumper by Rose. Four BAD possessions and the Cavs are taking advantage of them.
uh oh, bulls are letting the cavs back in.

Damn... That sucks. Blazers can't catch a break. Injuries are a part of the game, but I've never seen a team have so many injuries to key players.
