Met any players?
OJ Mayo was kind of a jerk. He had that attitude that he was better than me and he was going to act like it. Da'Sean Butler is a cool guy. He is personal and really down to earth. On the court, he gets pissed when people mess up but its cool. Devin Ebanks is quiet and kind of a loner. Kevin Jones is a pretty funny guy and is not like he is on the court. Truck Bryant is a jokester but is also very arrogant. Joe Mazzula is a cool guy. He is basically a coach. Patrick Patterson is pretty quiet and is very humble.
Just KU players. It's not like we were friends or anything, but I've bartended and waited tables at a restuarant in Lawrence in the past so I've had short conversations with Jacques Vaughn, Scot Pollard, Danny Manning, Wayne Simien, Keith Langford, Aaron Miles. 2010 prospects Cole Aldrich and Xavier Henry, Henry is very nice and out going. He and Simien are probably the nicest of the ones I've met.
I met Tony Parker, Rafer Alston, Stromile Swift, Carl Landry, Matt Bullard, Aaron Brooks, & Ben Wallace..
I have to say I hate Tony Parker, Rafer was just smiling and talking, but not to me. Who cares about Swift?
Oh Man, Landry is a Real Nice Dude. Met him in a Store in Houston, it was Costco. & Ben Wallace is really nice too, but it was like...the Jam Fest or whatever so he could just be acting nice. Matt Bullard is a Nice Dude, met him @ Main Event...but besides him and Landry, those things were organized for them to show up so eh.
Kemba Walker is real cool and so is Rudy Gay and Marcus Williams. but Thabeet was very cocky. Okafor was a real bookworm. Ben Gordon is cool too like all NYC guys. Jerome Dyson and Stanley Robinson hang eachother all day. Gavin Edwards liked to dance but the cockiest was AJ Price...........he thought he was the greatest

I actually got a chance to play 21 with Mario West. Super tough defender even in open gym, but he shoots about as good as me (which is decent for a normal basketball player, but not at NBA level). He's built more like a Free Safety in football than a basketball player. He was a pretty cool and personable person.
I met Javaris Crittenton at Run'n'Shoot (ironic that's the name huh.lol). He's very strong, athletic and explosive when driving to the rim. He also dropped dimes when he was passing the ball.
Eric Snow goes to my church in the NBA off-season. He's got great size for a PG. Real strong looking and he's a pretty long 6'3".
I met the whole UGA Bulldog basketball team on February 27th when they played Florida. All of them are huge. Travis Leslie looks like he lives in the weight room, and Trey Thompkins has the biggest hands I've ever seen. He almost broke my hand when I shook him up. lol.
I got to meet and get Al Thorntons autograph when our 8th grade coach took us to see his high school (Perry High) play against the school we would be going to the next year (Houston County High) And he was an absolute beast and dropped 40 on them he was a pretty cool dude on and off the court.
The summer of our freshman year at HOCO we went to a basketball camp at Auburn and at night after games we would get to watch the players practice and play scrimmages and meet them after. Toney Douglas is one of the cockiest dudes you will ever meet he even got a tech in a one of the scrimmages and would make fun of kids that would be playing when him and some of the other Auburn guys would watch us play in the daytime.
carlos boozer he is pretty much blah ! lance stephenson i see him alot he pretty much a regular guy, david lee i really enjoyed meeting him real nice guy and speaking of nice kevin durant is a real nice guy i met him years ago when i was on my auu team him and kevin love whip our a$$es i had a good game since im pretty much a post up guard or foward
nba players i have met and / or played against...
played against dujuan wagner (former nba player)
played against al harrington
nba players i have met: Wilt chamberlain.. was staying at same hotel as me when i was younger. Very nice guy ( to me at least)..
Naw Mr. 6000 i dont think ive met him yet i just transferd here and i start summer classes next month. So far i only know the people living around my dorm and people i already knew from my town
Thabeet was beyond rude, and treated people like trash. He always turned down fans, and would get offended if you tried talking to him. Rudy Gay was chill though. Met him once when he came back during the recruiting of Majok. The guy spent ten minutes signing autographs while his clique waited in the car for him.
I never meet anyone at MainEvent. I have literally never met anyone famous. ever. I talked to a few UH basketball players. Asked Sean Coleman(6'8" F for UH) what he thought about Hassan Whiteside before their upcoming game vs Marshall, he said, "&$#%#&@! him," and thats it. It was pretty funny.
i've ran into matt barnes out at the clubs in sac a few times. I hung out with some of his friends and was invited to his house before, but didnt go. That's all i got, lol.
oh man! ive met alot!
richard jefferson (when he was on the nets) nicest guy, seriosuly
julious hodge (if u saw him u would not think he played in the nba (mad skinny)
world b. free, lou williams, and matt carrol (bball camp)
jason kidd (at his house in nj on halloween) DICK!
chris paul (he said "sup fellas" to me and my buddies)
eddy curry (real nice guy)
marcus williams (played pickup hoops w/ him; and my buddy who walked on to uconn was better then him)
seen MJ in person, too many people around him!
im missing some!
and - for the 2 people that said thabeet was rude/cocky. he was in a chat i was in, he was sooooo nice and thankful. maybe his accent came off wrong to u guys. but he was real genuine
I met Chris Douglas-Roberts and Bobby Simmons at Garden State Plaza in Jersey. CDR was quiet (and he was walking slow as hell, LOL), but Bobby's a nice guy. He's very humble.
I met Julius Hodge at ABCD Camp back in '06. I just looked at him and said, "What's good?" And he gave me the classic head-nod. ballallday is right, Hodge looked skinny as hell.
I met Charlie Villanueva at the same camp. He gave me a pound, along with about 100 other people. He took the time to take pictures with everybody as well.
When I went to the NBA draft in 2005 there were a lot of players that were sitting in the stands waiting to be drafted, Julius Hodge wasn't too far away from me, "Before his name was called I heard him scream YESSSS after getting off the phone." I have also met David Lee, and a few other Knicks players. David Lee is a very stand-up guy.
I did get to meet David Stern and he took a picture with me when I went to the 2005 draft, that was a great moment though I look like a fool in the picture.
every year at a dinner my grandfather organizes, last fall boozer refused to take a picture with me because i was wearing a north carolina hat. Also deron williams was on the hate wagon of NC because they beat him in the championship game. It's funny how these stars still hold grudges against former teams/players in college. Also i went to a bar a few years back on my birthday.Paul millsap, Ronnie Brewer and Dee Brown bought me shot after shot, i ended up throwing up all night. Dee Brown slipped me a $100 dollar bill and said happy birthday. very nice people except for getting me to drunk.
j1232e,
That's awesome. Boozer should have just told you to take off your hat, and leave it at that and take that pic with you. That's pretty cool Dee Brown slipped you a $100 dollar bill and said happy birthday, that's awfully generous to give a complete stranger a $100.
I would have taken the hat off if I had not already had my picture taken with him in the past, but i was already a little angerd by all that offseason nonsense boozer caused, that i really didn't care to take it off. As of right now i would throw the hat in the carbage to get a picture with the booze. LOL!
hahahahhaahha im loving that story ^
theres a girl at my school whose uncle is Mike D'Antoni...she has met all the suns and says amare is a real d*ck
i played pick up with him, he was very friendly and his hamdles were just rediculous but couldnt shoot. very nice, would take pics after and sign autographs and answered questions
My bros played ball with Evan Turner on westside of CHI. I met D.Rose when I was walking through the halls at Simeon. And Sherron Collins is physically on mars in person.
Wow. How could I forget to mention Ish Smith. I've met him before to at a camp here. He's super quick and flashy. He's very athletic and quick too. He also was a knock down shooter when left open. He's another one of those players that shoots like a normal basketball player, which is not neccessarily a good thing for a PG that plays high-major basketball.

I was just wondering if any of you guys know any NBA players/prospects personally or have hung out or met any of them...for instance I have met will conroy and hes a pretty normal guy, wasn't too personable but wasn't too thuggish either...typical inner-city seattle kid, tough minded and no messin around
i have heard from my friend that goes to UW she claims that quincy pondexter is absolutely insane when it comes to women like he's obsessive and has said ridiculously insane things to some of her friends
also, i heard austin daye is the biggest jerk on the planet, like a freakishgly huge d-bag...steven gray from gonzaga said everyone on the team was SOOO happy when austin declared for the draft
i've met tony wroten and peyton siva both decent kids, tony is quiet off the court but really cocky on it, peyton thinks hes gods gift to the world but was also a friendly guy to me
my buddies dad had dinner with former laker michael cooper said he was a real stand-up guy and super cool
so basically im just trying to see what you guys have experienced!!! thanks!!
ive met both nate mcmillan and his son jamelle mcmillan and both are very cool people
gary payton was funny and real cool to us when we were just little kids, definitiely a good personality off the court
