Marquette Players

I just skimmed through it quickly but i don't see any Marquette players in the mock draft does anyone know why Jerel Mcneal or Dominic James isn't on there?

They have Jerel going #37 to the Bobcats in the 2009 draft. Dominic James -- although he possesses freakish athleticism and amazing hops -- has a lot of weaknesses. He's listed at only 5' 11" (although he has long arms) and more importantly, doesn't shoot a very high percentage...which speaks volumes of the streakiness of his outside shot.... considering his ability to make such acrobatic plays at the rim. His point production his gone down every year after a stellar frosh season where he put up 15.3 pts......he's shot under 40% his soph. and junior seasons. He's not an especially great foul shooter either (roughly a 65% career ave.)...nor does he shoot a respectable 3-pt. percentage (around 30% for his career). His teammate Wesley Matthews will probably have a better shot getting drafted with the numbers he's putting up. In fact, I'm surprised he hasn't appeared on more mock drafts as a late second rounder.

James

James is undersized and doesn't have the shooting skill to make up for it meaning he's got little potential as a pro prospect. McNeal will get a look in the early second round but Greivis Vasquez will be drafted the highest. His unique point guard skills combined with his height make him an interesting pro prospect.

Teammates Malik Hairston and Maarty Luenen unexpectedly heard their names called but Taylor didn’t.

Siirler Hikayeler Fikralar Programlar Guzel Sozler Resimler freetemplates Taylor was arguably Oregon’s best player last season, but his 6-foot-4 frame makes him a undersized at the next level. Nonetheless, his scoring ability, length and athleticism give him a chance to make in in the league.
