These players are good players who certainly outplayed others during the week but due to their potential, talent and expectations have to be considered disappointments for the week....
Jrue Holiday - (8.6 pts, 3 assts, 3.4 turnovers) 17th pick
Jrue had a tough week and received some harsh criticism after being touted as one of the top point guards in the draft. His team was a disaster and maybe he tried too hard to make that team work. With a real team and familiarity Jrue, will have a chance to bounce back.
Dionte Christmas - (9.3 pts, 2 rebs)
After starring at Temple but going undrafted, this was Dionte's chance to prove he belonged. Hopefully he gets another chance.
Terrence Williams - (9.6 pts, 6.6 rebs)
Williams played well enough at times, but for being the second highest pick here (11th), we expected more out of him. Williams is a standout athlete but his offensive potential is questionable.
Eric Maynor (7.2 pts, 3.2 assts.)
Running the system for Jerry Sloan has got to be an intimidating prospect, which is why I liked Maynor's game this week. He played under control, ran the sets efficiently and did not make a lot of mistakes. But his shooting woes made him a
it's just summer league..
If you knew Jrue Holiday was going to SUCK give yourself a pat on the back. I wanted Jeff Teague, and they get Jrue Holiday. He couldnt run the point at all when I watched, they let Terrence Williams run it one time because he was so ineffective. Man.
I would agree that all 4 of those players were disappointing
the only one that suprised me that played bad was terrence williams..i thought he would play pretty well...but like someone said it is summer league...but on the flip side summer league talent is less then in the nba and theses guys wont be getting the time in nba games that they are getting in the summer leagues
Holiday should have stayed another year at UCLA, it is only summer league, but he is not going to be ready to make any real impact til next year anyway, I understand the concept of potential, but 8ppg and 3apg is not one and done worthy, it just shows he needs more time developing in college
I saw every game at Orlando.
Holiday- was tough out there. His numbers were not good but he showed in flashes, he is capable to have success in the NBA.
Christmas- No Arguement, he just stuggled out there. Now, I understand why he was not drafted.
Williams- Another player, not his fault. CDR was ball-hoging to the point where the commentators said he was a ball-hog and he posted on his twitter his assist numbers. Which was 1.
Maynor- Not bad, He needed to playmake more. That Utah team had noone. They looked like a NBDL Team.
does anyone know if the clippers are playing again..and yea all those players were disappointing and should have played better considering what is expected from them
But we forget...all rookies, new teammates
I think the Clippers are...
i didnt forget..theose players just didnt step up to the plate..some other rookies did but they didnt..like i said i wont make excuses from players wheather i like them or not. does it mean there career is over...by no means no..just means at this point in time they are not ready and even less ready then some other rookies...they are in the same situation as the other rookies who have new teammates and we all know the gms and the vets on the teams they will be playing with arent gonna give them excuses if they play even nearly as bad as they played here against less comp where they wont have any plays run for them and have to check stars or score against tru nba players. they will have to produce in the limited time they get and most coaches wont have time to send them out there and have them play alot so they can develope, if the team is a playoff team then they really will have less of a leash to mess up you know.
ya, 4 more games for the clips. there schedule is on clippers.com but the nba.com does not list all 5 of their games for some reason.
