i like doing these topics. anyway lets say your a freshman out of pittsburgh. and you had a amzing college season there. you average 18 ppg 5 rebs ppg 3 asst ppg. and oh yeah your 6 ft 6 and you weigh 180 pounds. yeah your very skinny ! anyway you declare for the draft and you hear people saying your a top 10 pick . so you get all confident and hire a agent. then on draft night you wait by the phone with your eyes glue on to the tv and you keep waitin to see if someone will pick you. its been 20 picks already made. now you getting mad, nervous, and worried you dont get pick at all. the lakers are up next at 21 . and your a shooting guard . and you figure the lakers need size. so they wont pick you. but they do. anyway they draft you. so now your a third string behind kobe and somebody else. anyway phil is always yelling at you , and making you feel like less of a person. and kobe cant stand you. so anyway your first season in the pros sucks. you play only 3 mins a game. averaging like what 2.0 ppg. but the lakers are the best team in the league and yall gone to win a ring. but your mad that you dont get no pt, phil and kobe both dislike you. but the fans like you. anyway the lakers wanna keep you but they say they want to make you more of a small forward. but you dont wanna play out of position. so what do you do ? do you ask for a trade or do you stay one more year and hope you get mintues.
Kobe will respect you. And Phil will lay off you. That's really what it comes down to. Personally, I've always felt that the biggest thing for rookies is to just put in work all year long and try to improve. If you do that, everyhting else will take care of itself. The Lakers might not be the best situation to get minutes, but if you can't improve as a player with those guys, then something is wrong with you.
I mean I have a championship ring. It's time for me to forge my own path. See if I am really good or just got lucky in collge. I don't even like Kobe so I would be more than happy to get away from him. Ask for a trade, and the first game against LA I set aside the 5 or 6 games I'm gonna get suspended for the flagarant on Kobe.
U leave that #@$% thats wasting a year of ur career , sure u got a ring , but did U earn it , and no one likes u there anyways so GTF out
I did get my ring, so I want to move on to a different team and get some playing time to prove that I should have been a top 10 pick.
Adam Morrision Somewhat?? Well Your playing with a great Team and some great player......Play You heart out, don't cry about it,.....show what your really worth, or even talk to the coach....don't request a trade, that gives a bad rep.......
i would leave the lakers and go where ever i can go to get mintues.
I would stay behind Kobe and pick his brain. Learn perfect NBA D and then leave down the road
Demand a trade to Minny who has no shooting guards, play 2 years there as the main outside threat while feeding Jefferson as well and get paid baby.
so.. who are we talking about?
How much pull is the 21st pick who averaged 2 pts a game gonna have in asking for a trade? The Lakers might not trade you because you are'nt worth much and now you just pissed off your boss who took a risk on you and is paying your check. Rookie contracts run out after 3 years if the team does'nt exercise the 4th year, and then you can go wherever you want. And if all else fails, then just punch Kobe in the mouth after he gets on you and you just stamped your one way ticket out of town.
keep these roleplays coming thetruth87
they are interesting, and i enjoy doing them
Better Idea. Come to practice wearing a shirt that says Lebron owns Kobe and try to get him to hit you. That'll get you twice the amount of press and with Kobe suspended for hitting someone you'll get good minutes.
Lol this is kinda cool this role play stuff. My thing is the smart thing and someone said is to play hard play whatever position you can. You will be getting playoff experience and maybe another ring. Having a championship ring does help. Ask Madsen. Dude should not have had such a long NBA carreet but he plays hard and has a few rings. That will at least get you some attention and also as a 2 guard you will probably guard Kobe a few times and strengthen your D and also if you work out with him you can learn from his work ethic. This is a business as well as basketball. It does not matter if you don't like someone or they don't like you. Everyone wants to win and if you train hard you will get respect. Kobe will pass you the ball more. Imagine how things would have been if Kobe did not like Ariza huh. He may not have gotten a lot of those open shots so quickly. If he did get them it would have been after Kobe could not get his move off.
if i was him id work my ass off and be that sf or 6thman then leave the lakesr 4 my chance as a starter and a big payday id work 4 everything i dont quit its not me
I'd work hard. Nothing more, nothing less. Everything happens for a reason, and this is no different. As long as you work to get stronger, learn what it is that other players on your team do well and imitate them, you will be a successful player before long.
