NBA Comparison: N/A

Matthew Maurer – 4/7/2007

Strengths: Watkins is an above average athlete with good mobility for a bigman, able to run the court with ease Offensively he is a good finisher around the basket Possesses an NBA ready body capable of playing in the post with few issues Does a good job of keeping the ball high and away from opposing guards on put-backs Developed a few post moves this past season such as a up and under move that he has used with some success Watkinss main weapon is his ability to impact a game defensively (Averaged 3.4 shot blocks per game) Possesses some of the physical tools needed to be a quality shot blocker such as great timing, mobility and quickness Decent rebounder in his area as he does a solid job of boxing his man out under the glass Has matured a great deal in his approach to the game Has worked greatly on improving his overall stamina and conditioning

Weaknesses: For the most part Watkins remains raw offensively Back to the basket moves remain limited Improvement on his post footwork would greatly help in this as he is prone to picking travel calls rather frequently Doesnt have the best hands, its not uncommon for him to fumble passes on post up plays Watkins is a bit of an enigma due to his apparent lack of effort and focus Too often Watkins will appear disinterested in the game and play with little intensity Would score more if he worked harder by fighting for position and staying active by demanding the ball Not a great out of position rebounder as he isnt explosive enough Foul prone player who has a bad habit of over playing his man which leads to picking up quick fouls While he has improved this year his free throw shooting remains a work in progress, his form is extremely unorthodox
