Strengths: Joan Tomas is one of the more interesting European prospects born in 1992 … It is possible that next season he will play continuously in ACB League with DKV Joventut Badalona … Although he is young, he plays with great maturity on the court … Joan is very aggressive and attacks the rim with an excellent first step … He is usually most potent when going to his right … His length allows him to be a strong rebounder, and defender …

Weaknesses: Joan is not the best shooter, however he has improved every year by training with Josep Maria Margall … Joan Tomas needs to play at a higher level (such as the ACB) for his true potential and ability to be seen … He needs to improve his consistency on his three point shot … He also needs to strengthen his body physically as well as improve his quickness and lateral movement … Currently, he is able to out-class many Europeans athletically, but that won’t hold true against the premier athletes of the NBA where he will be a average or below average athlete …  He also needs to improve his ball-handling and the use of his left hand … Tomas is not very confident in his ball-handling skills …
