NBA Comparison: Mo Williams

Aran Smith – 7/18/2006

Strengths: Solid all around floor general … Makes good decisions, leads a team well … Finishes well around the basket and finds baskets within the flow of the game … Makes adjustments well when on drives, kicking to teammates or creating shots … Excellent free throw shooter. Really excels at drawing fouls on the drive and converting from the free throw line … A 90% free throw shooter, who thrives in pressure situations … Tough defender … Doesn’t try to do too much, takes what the defense gives him and makes the right play most of the time … Solid size and strength for the position … Similar to former Alabama and current Milwaukee Bucks point guard Mo WIlliams, though not the quick penetrator, nor the shooter. But a better defender, passer, and more of a "natural PG".

Weaknesses: A good but not great scorer … Struggled some with consistency in his sophomore year with little help in the backcourt. Teams were able to collapse on him … Lacks standout athleticism, but has good foot speed and quickness … May need to tinker with his shooting mechanics. His outside shot is succesful, but he doesn’t get much lift and has a low release point … A good passer, but lacks the vision of some point guards …
