Rodney McGruder's buzzer-beater helps K-State drop Baylor (VIDEO)

Scott Gleeson, USA TODAY Sports

A failed desperation inbounds pass paved way for one last chance for Kansas State.

Big 12 player of the year candidate Rodney McGruder made it count, drilling a buzzer-beating three-pointer to lift the No. 13 Wildcats over Baylor for a 64-61 victory on Saturday night.

With the game tied at 61-all and one second left, Baylor's Jacob Neubert failed with a length-of-the-court inbound pass. It went the length of the court, but landed beyond the opposite baseline. This gave the ball to K-State with enough time for a game-winner.

Bruce Weber's play call worked perfect. After a timeout, Angel Rodriguez found his target on the right wing, and McGruder buried the jumper. His teammates subsequently tackled him.

McGruder had 18 points to lead Kansas State (24-5, 13-3), which won its fifth straight to maintain a share of the Big 12 lead with No. 5 Kansas with two regular season games left.
