Mislav Brzoja, a 6-foot-4 guard from Croatia who is a threat from three-point range, has been added to Villanova's basketball roster, coach Jay Wright announced Friday.

Brzoja, who will be eligible to compete as a freshman during the season, spent last season leading Traders Point Christian Academy of Whitespoint, Ind., to a 24-3 record. Earlier this month, he averaged 15.0 points, 1.9 assists, and 2.3 steals in helping lead Croatia to victory in the under-18 European Championships.

Brzoja, who was his team's captain, shot 34.0 percent from three-point range and averaged more than two baskets from deep in the eight games that he played.

"We're excited about what Mislav will bring to our basketball team," Wright said in a statement. "Mislav is an outstanding student and tough competitor who will add to the perimeter depth of our team."

Brzoja is the fourth newcomer to be added to the Villanova roster for the 2012-13 season, joining freshmen Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu and transfer Tony Chennault, who was granted a hardship waiver by the NCAA to compete. Another transfer, Dylan Ennis, will sit out this season under NCAA rules.
