Player of the Week

Oziyah Sellers, Stanford

Sellers often gets overlooked due to being teammates with Maxime Raynaud but he is a big reason why Stanford has been competitive in its first season in the conference. Against Syracuse he put up 10 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal and against SMU he had 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block. He is a player who can do a little bit of everything and is a perfect fit next to Raynaud. He could be someone to watch going into next season’s NBA Draft.

Freshman of the Week

Kon Knueppel, Duke

Knueppel had a great week alongside Cooper Flagg and has been a solid fit on the blue devils this season. This week against North Carolina State the freshman had 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals and against North Carolina he had 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. He has been an elite all-around player and should be a lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Who’s Hot

Donald Hand Jr, Boston College

Despite the Eagles’s rough season Hand Jr has been a bright spot. The sophomore is averaging 15.5 points and 6.7 rebounds this season. He had his best week of the season this past week. Against North Carolina he had 26 points, 6 assists, and 3 assists. Against Florida State, he had 31 points and 9 rebounds. Hand also won Co-Player of the Week.

Cooper Flagg, Duke

It feels like every week that I have to put Flagg on this list. Since December Flagg has shown why he was the clear No. 1 pick in this upcoming NBA Draft. Flagg had 28 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists against North Carolina State. Against North Carolina the freshman put up 21 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. He is an elite player on both sides of the court and will be a monster in the NBA.

Who’s Cold

California Golden Bears

The Golden Bears have had a few bright spots this season but the bad spots have been more noticeable. The squad is trending towards the bottom of the conference and haven’t made themselves stand out just yet. California is on a two game losing streak and now have a .500 record sitting at 11-11. It’s not too late to turn it around but it doesn’t look like they will be able to make it far in March unless they turn it around fast.

Tyrese Proctor, Duke

Proctor has been a key player for the Blue Devils this season but has been inconsistent. The junior put up 4 points and 4 rebounds against North Carolina State but then put up 17 points and 3 assists against North Carolina. It feels like this has been a big story about him this season. It has affected his draft position but look for Proctor to be a second round pick in this upcoming NBA Draft.

Top 5 teams in the ACC

1. Duke Blue Devils

The Blue Devils have looked unstoppable and sit atop the ACC. The squad is on a 15-game winning streak and it doesn’t look like it will be stopping anytime soon.

2. Clemson Tigers

The veteran heavy Tigers have been a surprise this season and are currently right behind Duke. They are a team to look out for when March comes around.

3. Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals have been one of the hottest teams in college basketball as of late and could be a dark horse to win the ACC.

4. SMU Mustangs

The Mustangs have made their presence known in the ACC. In their first year in the conference they have already become one of the top teams in it and are one of the more difficult teams to face.

5. Wake Forest Demon Deacons

The black and gold are a team that have been another surprise in the conference but have been one of the strongest teams to go up against. Wake Forest could make a run in the ACC tournament that could continue when the NCAA tournament rolls around.
