Hi its BenParticipantI’m so pissed. SOO pissed. UAB & VCU get in and they dont????? I was reaaally looking forward to seeing Alec Burks take over in the turnament.. I even thought they could make a run to the sweet sixteen. This is bull****. The committee did a terrible job with the final bubble teams.

fgrrghgParticipantyeah pretty crazy eh.. i didn’t think there was a chance they’d leave burks out of the tourny. UAB, VCU and USC all very sketch picks

JNixonParticipantEasily the biggest snub this year. Easily. No way can anyone explain how UAB or VCU got in over them.

jeff416ParticipantUAB deserved to get in. Clemson and VCU shouldn’t have though.

JoeWolf1I was pretty shocked, I was certain they were a lock after beating K-State again and going over 20 wins in the Big 12 tourney.

delfamParticipantnon-conference strength of schedule was 300+ for Colorade, that is probably why they didn’t get in. So stupid though since, they beat a 5 seed(K-State) 3 times, a 4 seed(Texas), and an 11(Missouri).

JNixonParticipantUAB had no good wins. They weren’t a tourny team at all.

delfamParticipantseems like the committee puts more emphasize on who you schedule than who you beat, even if you lost to those good teams you scheduled.

JNixonParticipantYeah UAB had a kinda tough schedule, but that’s it. They didn’t win any tough games and aren’t better than Alabama, Colorado, Virginia Tech, or Saint Mary’s.

jeff416ParticipantThey have a high RPI, a decent sos, they won there conference, and they 10 top 100 wins. They are deserving to be there, but I do think Colorado should have been there to.

JNixonParticipantTheir high RPI speaks to why the RPI system is flawed as opposed to them being deserving. The C-USA was a pretty weak conference this year. And just because they have top 100 wins shouldn’t mean much. They have no top 50 wins. 100 teams don’t make the tourny. 50 does though. Just because they played a tough schedule doesn’t mean they deserved to be a tourny team. They didn’t win hardly any of their tough games. There best win was against VCU, who also shouldn’t have been in the tourny. They are weaker than every notable team that got left out, and its not hard to tell.

jeff416ParticipantThe RPI is flawed for all teams though, not just them. And C-USA is not the WAC, there were a lot of good teams in there this year. Really the main reason I think they should be in is because they won there conference out right, and it’s one of the top 8 or 9 best conferences.
Colorado deserved to be in though, they were snubbed.

llperez68 teams and there are still arguments over who got snubbed. Now its time for these teams to prove they belong. Obviously not everybody can win in the tournament, but teams should at least be competitive to make their conferences look good.

JNixonParticipantC-USA was a weak league this year. Memphis, UTEP and UAB were the best teams in that league, and all 3 of those teams are NIT teams in years past. Their RPI was aided by them playing top 100 teams (which shouldn’t be held in high regard at all) and playing a decent schedule, even though they had no top 50 wins and a VERY weak *single* quality win. It’s flawed for everyone, but it was the difference between them making it and Colorado and better teams not making it.

The lake show2There’s no way you can look at it and say UAB or VCU should be in over Colorado. They scheduled well but they lost, there conference was weaker and even when you use the eye test Colorado looks better. Hell why no give Harvard consideration
