50 Greatest Players of all time

I dont think that they can replace any of the first 50 players bcuz those 50 are from the first fifty years of the NBA… so they will probably just add on the the list to make it the 60 greatest players of all-time or sumthing like that

i think there will be a top 100 and then done. All the guys you said are top 50 all time yes. Kobe and Duncan are high on the new NBA top 50

They should seperate it by ERA or something because it just isn’t fair to compare two players of different times… pre-2000 and post-2000 sounds reasonable, players such as Kobe would be in the post-2000 because he really set himself apart after 2000 while he was relatively young before that, and Shaq would be pre… and etc.

IMO he is number 1 on the All Time Greats list… just above Jordan at 2.

Reasoning behind this, is that Bill Russell dominated the league as a player on both ends of the floor, and as a coach for the few years where he was a player/coach… also his Championship Rings are the most ever by a single player, so that does show a man’s success.

But as the years come and go, the idea of a Top 50 list of all time is not that valid. Since every few years a few new players end up proving themselves to be considered, hence causing older players names to be forgotten. Which shouldn’t happen since the game of NBA basketball has changed dramatically over the past few decades…

It is very hard to compare players from the 1950s to modern day players. Since it was a completely different game.

top 75 yes, but id put Shaq and possibly A.I in front of him, Kidd deserves at least a look

would be, Kobe, Iverson, Shaq, Duncan, Garnett, LeBron,
Maybes: Nowitzki? Dwight CP3 Gasol?

Gasol isn’t even close and there is absolutely no way to put Iverson in front of Garnett. KG plays both ends of the court. A.I. has a place in history for his scoring, but he isn’t in Garnett’s league as an all-around basketball player.

It’s impossible to compare Cousy to CP3. Different game entirely. Also hard to compare Mikan vs. Shaq or others from different era. The game has changed so much. Baseball has also changed, but it’s so much easier to compare Griffey to Mays for example. If a new top 50 list were to come out, it would have to include some of the new players, and the likes of Debussure (sp?), Unseld and Bing would not be on it. As time goes on, more and more from the old list will disappear. That’s just the nature of these type of things.
