Found a cool list of everyone who scored 50 points in a single game and how many times they did so in the regular season:

    http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/default.aspx?id=27596147&ns=sports-nba&displaymode=1247&beginSlide=1&beginChapter

Scoring 50 is a pretty awesome accomplishment, always cool seeing someone hit the half century mark. Here is the list of NBA Regular Season 50 point scorers and how many times they did so, just think it will be cool to write it all down:

My guy Scottie never hit 50 points, his high was 47, but some of these guys on him just had a tremendous killer instinct and some had a lucky night (Brandon Jennings). I like B Jennings but not sure if he can duplicate another night like that one in Golden State.

For those who have a few hours to spend – Jordan’s points from 36 out of 38 of his games where he scored 50 or more. Enjoy.

Chamberlain – 104 fifty point games in reg. season, 4 in the playoffs. Talk about stepping down in the post-season, no wonder Bill Russel has all the rings

He just went off that night, but with the right circumstances, could see him doing it again. A bad defense and a hot shooting performance can get it done. Here is a list I actually was interested in about the 50 Point Club, who among them did not at least make one All-Star game? At current time, looks like this:

    • Jamal Crawford (hit 50 3 times)
    • Purvis Short (2)
    • Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf
    • Nick Anderson
    • Willie Burton
    • Tony Delk
    • Jim Jackson
    • Brandon Jennings
    • Kevin Martin
    • Vernon Maxwell
    • Andre Miller
    • Tracy Murray
    • Mike Newlin
    • Charles Smith
    • Damon Stoudamire
    • Walt Wesley
    • Freeman Williams
    • Ray Williams
    • John Williamson

19 players out of the 116 players (Regular and Postseason) have never made an All-Star team, translating to 16.4%. So, on the flip side, 83.6% of the players who put up 50 points made at least one All-Star game. Brandon Jennings may not get to 50 again, and he is part of the 16.4%, but the kid is talented and he can go off on scoring runs. He has yet to really come close, but all it takes is another special night and some subpar defense for a guy to go off.

If you get enough shots and play against the right defense, it could very well happen. Most players career highs are at least double what they average for their career. Consistency is key, but their are always nights that defy the odds. As great of a scorer as Jamal Crawford may be, if he can score 50 three times, I am guessing it is possible for Brandon Jennings to do it again. I am sure Brandon Jennings would rather be consistent than have one flash in the pan followed by a bunch of poor shooting performances, though.

Didn’t Marcus Fizor do it once?  I was surprised to see Tony Delk on there aswell.

I don’t care who the heck you are… or are percieved to be by most nba fans, if your drop 50 in an NBA game… YOU ARE BOSS!

This is an EDIT.  I checked and I was way off :p  Its Fizer not "Fizor" and he hit 30 twice with the Bulls.  Not sure why I thought he had 50 one time.  Owell.

Nice list. I remember a few of these games, especially the Tracy Murray one. I always had a feeling he would do it one day. I remember the one year he played for the Raptors he would string together these 30 point games and then go cold and then go on another scoring spurt. Another little known player who I thought would have dropped 50 was Tony Dumas. He didn’t stick around very long but in 95-96 he lit teams up when he got in the game. He didn’t play many minutes but when he did it seemed like he never stopped shooting the ball (crappy shot selection, suprise!). Some described him as instant offense, I felt spontaneous combustion was a more accurate term……..Btw, any one else notice Barkley never scored 50 in a regular season game
