ilike.panochasParticipantWhich city or state do you guys think produces the best and most talented players? And im not talking about just street ball, cities or states that produces NBA/NCAA players?
To me here are some of the cities that comes off the top of my head:
Chicago – Known for producing great guards (Wade,Rose, Tim Hardaway, etc.)
Oakland – They have quietly produced great/good NBA players (Kidd, Payton, Antonio Davis, JR Rider, etc.)
Los Angeles – Alot of good NBA players have come from this place (Baron Davis,Arenas, Paul Pierce, Tyshawn Prince, Tyson Chandler, etc.)Id like to mention New York as well, but I think their a bit overrated, specially their Point Guards. Theres this “myth” where the most talented PG comes from NY, and while there have been a lot of of them, I think Chicago, Oakland, and LA have produced better PGs.

—————————————————————————————————————————————Well Philly has Kobe, Wilt and Monroe.
NY has Kareem, Dr J and Bob Lanier
Indiana has Larry Bird, Oscar Robertson, and George McGinnis
those two are kinda comparable
And Detroit which produced Magic, Gervin and Dave Debusshere isn’t that far behind
But yeah Philly has produced some awesome players.

jankees5000ParticipantYou have to give some love to Maryland and D.C. The past few years just off the top of my head I can think of Durant and Beasley and Nolan Smith. Greivis Vasquez. They have two of the top schools in the country in Montrose Christian and Dematha. Obviously there is Oak Hill just a few minutes away which has just produced ridiculous talent. They may not have the history of some of the other states, but at the moment they have some of the best talent out there.

And its no coincidence, California has the best weather for basketball, its not too hot, and we get no snow in here, so basketball is played here all year round.

canesboy6ParticipantIt has to be Cali, but I think thats a little unfair because Cali is so big. North Carolina is probably the best ratio of size to basketball talent, with Illinois right up there as well.
By Region, I would have to say the best in the country are comming from Big East turf right now, that DMV powerhouse is in full force.

canesboy6ParticipantIt has to be Cali, but I think thats a little unfair because Cali is so big. North Carolina is probably the best ratio of size to basketball talent, with Illinois right up there as well.
By Region, I would have to say the best in the country are comming from Big East turf right now, that DMV powerhouse is in full force.

ilike.panochasParticipantSeattle/Washington has also quietly produced good players lately. Brandon Roy,Jamal Crawford, Avery Bradley, Nate Robinson, Aaron Brooks, Jason Terry, Martell Webster, Marvin Williams, Spencer Hawes, Terrence Williams, Rodney Stuckey, etc. The city is pretty underrated for producing NBA players

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantMelo was born in NY but raised in Baltimore.
If were going by where they were born….NY wins simply because of Jordan.

joecheck88Participantu do realize camden, nj is just across the river(literally as soon as u cross the bridge its called camden) and it is a suburb of philadelphia. i lived in philadelphia and camden iscloser to downtown than i was.
anyway philly has produced alot of talented players. we have the greats in kobe, wilt, and earl monroe. we also have guys like rasheed wallace, kyle lowry, and aaron mckie. there are more that im not thinking about but i thinks it would be hard for 1 city to form a starting five better than phillys.
pg- earl monroe
sg- kobe bryant
sf- ?
pf- rasheed wallace
c- wiltanyway seattle gets left out alot.
how do we define where players are from? is it where they went to college? is it where they went to hs?
i go by hs because that is truly where players grew up as basketball players.

ZachAttackParticipantUtah… I don’t know anyone born there but the U of U, BYU, and Weber St have all produced some great players
Andrew Bogut – Utah
Andre Miller – Utah
Jimmer Fredette – BYU (I know he’s not good but he still made it in the league… barely)
Delon Wright – Utah
Damian Lillard – Weber State
Gary Payton II went to the Salt Lake Community College but I don’t know how good he is yet.
and a lot of other inactive guys like Tom Chambers, Mike Newlin, and others
