omphalosParticipantI’ve always thought Roy was better than people give him credit for, if they can stop getting injured they have one of the most talented and deep teams in the League.

LawDeeZeeParticipantEvan Turner is the 5th best 2-guard in the league?

Bryant24ParticipantJoe Johnson 2nd best sg in the east
Brandon Roy 2nd best sg int he west
Kobe best sg in the nba period and he’s a better passer than he is giving credit for top 5 player of all time
wade is a close second
i think Tyreke Evans is a combo guard who is capable of playing the 1 and 2 at an elite level0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 7:30am #359160
Stojakovicfor3Participanthow is Turner 5th best if he hasn’t even played 1 NBA game.

Bryant24Participanteven if you are high on turner he havent even scored a nba basket yet so how can be better than the shooting guards you got him ahead of.

Real Talk Real TrophiesParticipantmaybe in the top 10? or j-richardson? hard to call because of combo guards. Monta ellis?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 7:41am #359168
kobyzParticipantcause i belive he is better than those player right now(if Manu complete healthy maybe sixth), next year i’ll put him top 3, this is how much i high on him, he is my favorite player after Tim Duncan!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 7:45am #359174
kobyzParticipanti don’t think Monta Ellis ceiling as a SG is very high, if he were to become full time PG he could be top 3 at that position IMO!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 7:46am #359175
WizardofOzParticipant1. Joe Johnson
2. Brandon Roy
3. Kobe Bryant
4. Combo guard

ChrischiParticipantbs turner isn’t even top 30, he hasn’t proven a shit yet
1. Kobe
2. Wade
3. Roy
4. JJ
5. Manu
6. Ray Allen
8. Stephen Jackson
8. Kevin Martin
9. Crawford
10. I mean this is so tough, the first 5-6 are easy but then? It depends on every team, there are SG defender like Afflalo and Sefolosha and there are instant offense SG’s like JR Smith and Kevin Martin. Some teams need shooter like Korver or whatever. You really can’t decide. The first 5-6 are easy because you basically get the whole package, an explosive scorer, leader, good defender and solid/good shooter.0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:04am #359189

kobyzParticipantthere is no way that Kevin Martin or Crawford are better than Turner, Turner much better and more efficient even right now.

ZaratukParticipantBase on what? Even his summer league stats don’t say that…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:22am #359209
weballin.netParticipantB Roy second in the East and Joe Johnson second in the East but must prove in the Playoffs
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:24am #359210
kobyzParticipantin summer league for some reason Sixers didn’t let Turner to be the main player with the ball so it hurt him, and summer league say nothing!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:28am #359215
Tyreke JohnsonParticipantEast: 2nd best SG is Joe Johnson
West: 2nd best SG is Brandon Roy0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:28am #359216
ghettosermonParticipantumn if Turner has to be the “main guy” to be successful the 76ers are in trouble. If Turner is your best player you will never win a championship. He projects more as a very good #2 or 3 if he actually reaches his potential. Don’t get it mixed up, this is Iggy’s team right now.
0- Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:41am #359224
kobyzParticipanti’m doubt it, Turner is very main guy type player, he has all it need to be best player on a championship team!

dipt1982ParticipantSummer league is a cake walk for players of Turner and Walls caliber, Wall showed his abilities, Turner looked like Shizzzz…not one game over 13 points? And very little PG production averaging about 2-3 assists. LOL. What a joke, this kid’s gotta be joking.
Joe Johnson and Brandon Roy are definitely 2nd fiddles in the East and West respectively to Wade and Kobe…and Ray Allen is not in the top ten at this point, he’s fallen off the map, he might have a few spot games where he shoots well. Overall though, he doesn’t do much more than score, so I would put at least 10 guys ahead of him, maybe more.
0- Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:48am #359232
kobyzParticipantagain Wizards let Wall to be main guy with the ball and Sixers wanted Holiday to become strengthened so they let him be the main guy with the ball but that will change cause there no doubt Turner is the franchise player! Turner will be better than Roy!

wuteverParticipantDude your claims make no sense the guy hasnt even suited up for an NBA game yet. Second of all none of your sentences make any sense.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:51am #359239
ghettosermonParticipantIt’s because Wall and Holiday are PG’s. Turner has to prove that he can be effective off ball. In college he was extremely ball dominant almost as a point forward but at this level he has to show that he can make an impact rolling off screens and such. If he can’t he will really struggle. The tools are all there for him to be very good, but your claims are ridiculous. Not only is he no where near a top 5 SG like you say, but IMO he has so much improvement before he can even be considered top10.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/21/2010 - 8:58am #359248
dipt1982ParticipantHe’s not in the top 15 SG’s at this point, maybe 20. He was the point forward at Ohio State, he didn’t play off the ball. Unless he controls the ball for the most part of games, I’m finding it difficult for him to adjust to being a SG in the NBA. Not sure if he has the true jump shot to transfer as a SG, he was very reliant on controlling the ball and making plays for himself. That’s a totally different kind of game from swooping around off of screens for jumpers and streaking through the lane.
Not gonna make any bold predictions or anything, but I would not be surprised if in a few years, we all look back at the 2010 draft and call Turner a bust. He has the talent to be very good, but the transition for him will be tough. Don’t be stupid…

warriorlifeParticipantNo love for Monta Ellis? People need to see the tapes. The fastest player in the league, one of the most amazing finishers I have ever seen, he can really get it going with his pull up jumper, improved his three and was very good with it during the second half of the season, has the ability to be a lockdown defender with his amazing quickness (had games against Roy and Kobe where he locked them down one on one, he forced kobe into 9 turnovers, many of them picking his pocket). Takes good shots great fg percentages for his career. Should get more calls, but he doesn’t flop. Just 24 years old. 25.5 pts, 2.23 steals, 4 rebs, 5.3 asts. With a team that got outrebounded 90% of the time. The one thing he needs to cut down are his turnovers, which I’m confident he’ll do. A true special player.
