JDB12ParticipantRivals says he only has one offer from NC Central. Bronny is a consensus 4 star recruit and has no major D1 offers which is interesting considering a majority of 3 star and several 2 star recruits will have multiple D1 offers.
As far as hype, I think he is overhyped and broadcasted because of his name… however, I think his basketball skillset is a bit underrated and well deserving of being a 4 star recruit. It’s just intriguing to me he has no major offers.
Is it a case of the James family just keeping their cards close to their chest? Assumption from schools thinking he’ll go to the G-league or another professional avenue. And this is complete speculation, but maybe given LeBron’s aptitude for creating educational opportunities for young people that he doesn’t want Bronny taking a scholarship spot from another student-athlete and Bronny will effectively walk-on to any school he wants and they will just pay tuition etc. out of pocket because you know…. LeBron is a billionaire.
Just wondering if any of you had an idea as of why he has no offers as a 4 star.

armchairgmParticipantDuke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky haven’t offered him but they are interested in him. As of right now I don’t think he has shown NBA potential, but you know if Lebron is still playing at a high level and says he will go to whatever team that drafts his son someone will take him.

HitsterParticipantI’d think LBJ and his support entourage will advise Bronny on best path to take. Interesting point by Armchair GM of LBJ possibly wanting to play a year with his son. I don’t know if this has ever happened in NBA before with father and son playing together on a team?
JDB12 has a good point given LBJ’s wealth he can easily pay to put Bronny through college or even because of name value he gets offers and LBJ makes contribution to the school.
Being the son of a legend must be hard from a playing point as you are rarely ever as good as them and people think you got where you are on name value. But if Dad is a multimillionaire/billionaire it does have it’s perks.
Bronny actually going to college and doing a few years maybe even get his degree if he is academic might be a good move as it gives him other options although LBJ would always likely find hom a job somewhere in his businesses. But if Bronny has his degree then he can prove he can do the job. Also if the basketball didn’t work out its asafety net.
