princejamesParticipantDamn That’s Crazy!!!!! I did a bold prediction thread on alex len two month’s ago. In which I personally guaranteed that Alex Len would be the number one pick in the draft. And then ( LOL!! ) I got negged like crazy by nbadraft.net members who didn’t agree with my prediction.
http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/bold-prediction-number-one-pick-years-nba-…
Now I noticed that everybody has jumped on the bandwagon as far as thinking and accepting that the realistic pick for the number one pick in this year’s 2013 nba draft should be alex len.
I studied and watched many games of alex len this year. And came to the conclusion that alex had a strong foundation of size, dynamic big man skills ( offensively & defensively), deceptive athleticism, and great potential that would tempt many nba teams to pick alex with the first pick in the draft.
Also I’ve kept this too myself because of the average numbers that this other extremely talented big man put up during this past college basketball season. But I secretely really love the potential and upside of Steven Adams too. I like to humble myself when it comes to the development of talented center prospects. Because the reality is that it takes time for young center prospects to develop into very good players.
For example:
1. Patrick Ewing only averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
2. Tim Duncan only averaged 9 points and 9 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
3. David Robinson only averaged 7 points and 4 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
4. Hakeem Olajuwon only averaged 8 points and 6 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
5. Alonzo Mourning only averaged 12 points and 7 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
6. Dikembe Mutombo only averaged 4 points and 4 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
7. Brad Daugherty only averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
8. Rik Smits only averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
9. Roy Hibbert only averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds his first year playing college basketball
10. Andrew Bogut only averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds his first year playing college basketballIt takes Big Men historically a long time for them to develop properly – Because:
1. They have to learn how to use their physically tools in an efficient matter
2. They have to develop the strength, body control, and footwork needed to play the center position at a high level
3. They have to learn how to fight and win the battle for positioning and angles.
4. They have to develop their ability to utilize anticipation and timing
5. They have to develop the ability to score against or defend against high levels of physical contact
6. They have to develop the ability to play efficiently with-in high levels of trafficSo thus when it comes to Steven Adams, a player who only averaged 7 points and 6 rebounds. You have to judge him based strictly on his potential and upside. I personally won’t be surprised if he ends up being better that alex len. I actually believe that if steve adams would have stayed in college for 3 years. Then he would have had the chance to be the number one pick in the 2015 NBA Draft Class. I just love his freakish strength and freakish athleticism. He’s been blessed with a great NBA Body and has the potential to develop into the strongest player in the NBA. He also has an underrated skill level for a big man. He’s a solid passer from the high post and low post. He can finish plays around rim with touch, strength, and athleticism. He has very good shot blocking and rebounding instincts, and he has the mobility to guard forwards on the perimeter if needed. He can run the floor like a gazelle and has great big hands that allows him to catch difficult passes with ease. He also has pretty decent shooting mechanics and has shown in the past that he has the potential to develop solid low post scoring skills.
NBA Comparison For Steven Adams
1. Best Case Scenario: A stronger and more athletic Andrew Bogut
2. Worst Case Scenario: Darko Milicichttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56aNXGt&$#%#&@!Y
Also I predict that the best players from this 2013 nba draft class will be Alex Len And Steven Adams Guaranteed!!!!!!!

princejamesParticipantBold Prediction: The Number One Pick Is This Year’s NBA Draft Will Be Alex Len
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpPvt_ilgZE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IknKniuYCic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKdjra7MDeMReason:
The NBA is in desperate need of talented and skilled centers. And I think alex len has the potential to develop in a pretty good center
I personally love talented centers who have a high all-around skill level. To me the game of basketball should be played inside then outside. Big men who can score on the low post, rebound, block shots, run the floor, and be talented passers will always make the game easier for everybody around them.
Alex Len is intriguing to me because he has a very good all-around skill level and he has the potential to develop into a talented center who can score on the low post, shoot the midrange jumper, rebound, block shots, run the floor, and be a talented passer from the low post and high post. Alex can potentially develop into another Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
Alex Len could end up being the best player from this draft. His skill level, size, mobility, deceptive athleticism, and touch around the basket. Will give him the chance to be a starting center in the NBA. I think he will easily be better than Roy Hibbert and Marcin Gortat.
I also like the fact that Alex has no problem competing with or even outplaying elite level athletes who play the center or power forward postions. For example – this past season- he outplayed:
1. Nerlens Noel ( elite athlete)
2. Mason Plumlee ( elite athlete)
3. CJ Leslie ( elite athlete )You heard it from me first- Alex len will be the Number One Pick In This Year’s NBA Draft-Guaranteed!!!!!!!!!!

princejamesParticipantNo not really, I just wanted to tease and play with the people who originally negged me like crazy when I predicted that alex would be the number one pick with-in the forum topic I created in april. It’s funny to me because I now notice that most of the members on this website has accepted that alex will most likely be the number one pick in this year’s draft.
But to be realistic anything can happen. Because Cleveland could make a trade to get a veteran/talented player who could immediately help their team achieve the goal of making the play-offs this year.

B-ball fanParticipantYeah, it is funny how everybody seems to love Len all of a sudden, now that his stock is seen as rising. Personally, I think the rise of his stock is a little too much. No way should he be drafted 1st overall.
