Tony Parker is faster than Aaron Brooks. So is Allen Iverson, though he lost a half a step this year. Honestly, there are a few point guards faster than Brooks.

i think Nate Robinson might be the fastest point guard if you wanna consider him a point. whatever position you consider him, he’s probably the fastest. i think a healthy Amare is the fastest 4.

    Nope

Why did you switch your fastest PG backlash after Aminu pointed out Devin Harris as fast?

I really don’t think there is much of a reason to argue which point guard is the fastest. In my estimation, the 5 fastest point guards will not have a more than 1/5 of a second difference in a 3/4 court sprint. Does that really matter? As for big men, the difference is huge. I assure you that there is much more variance between Bosh and Amare than there is between the 5 fastest point guards.

No point guard is faster than Rajon Rondo. Parker and Harris are close, but Rondo ate Harris every game we played them this year check the box scores.

It’s because i was thinking about point guards that were in the playoffs. That’s why i switched it. If i had remembered who Devin Harris was, he would’ve been my pick no doubt about that.

The Bulls have both of them. Derrick Rose should easily be in the fastest conversation….I would even say the fastest Guard in the NBA. Have you guys seen him? It takes him like 3 or 4 dribbles to get down the whole entire court. Brad Miller is SLOW!

for the record. nate’s 3/4 court sprint at the nba pre draft camp was 2.96. 3rd fastest in the camps history. derrick rose had a 3.05. T.J. Ford 3.20. harris had 3.19. Dwight Howard actually had a 3.14. Amare ran a 3.25. Bosh 3.30. LaMarcus Aldridge 3.43. Javelle McGee 3.25. nice topic! i love looking at these numbers!

    Fastest
    C Dwight Howard
    PF Amare Stoudemire
    SF Lebron James
    SG Rodney Carney
    PG Nate Robinson

i dont wanna go into the slowest. its depressing.

thats not a fact at all. i assume you’re referring to his ASW record (if you’re not, i stand corrected). the Guiness people actually had certificates ready to give to the record setters for things like half-court shots in a minute (CP3), blindfolded free-throws (chauncey), the longest shot sitting down & the sprint. they each set inaugural records meaning no matter what they did it would be a record. there was no time to beat and no one since to try and break it. totally meaningless records. just done to entertain fans for ASW.

It’s still a record, so that MAKES it FACT. You can say who or what you think, but theirs documentation supporting this. So…

you do understand that they could have had Yao run that and it would have been a record? it could have been you and it would have been a record. for anyone to be considered fastest or slowest using times there would have to be other times to gauge against. with your thinking Devin Harris is not only the fastest player in the NBA, but the slowest as well. since his time is the only time. get what i’m saying? you dont consider the NBA Pre-Draft Camp to be documentation? where more than 1 person actually has a time? alphafemale? lol. i like your style! i’m not trying to embarrass you or start an arguement. i’m just letting you know the truth behind that so-called record. you seem to know your stuff and i do appreciate that. maybe you think i’m picking on you. thats not the case at all. dont be mad player!

I think the issues has to do with some people not knowing that quick and fast are two different things. Iverson is still quick but faster than the new kids maybe not so much. Also one tests like that can not tell you who would win in a race or who is consistently faster or quicker. I like Nate and you can tell his fast as Explosive but there are time when all of the people mentioned for quickness has look the fastest. I think you can make an argument for all of them because the tested difference is too close and they have yet to race.

It was a joke. Anyways he is the fastest til someone proves otherwise. Thats why records are meant to be broken. By your philosophy, me saying I know someone is faster than a record holder: then it must be true. So my neighbor is in fact faster in the 100m than U Bolt. Otherwise everything else is speculation and OPINION.

Do you understand what I’m saying? So regardless it’s fact.

you’re being ridiculous. i take back what i said about you knowing your stuff. the only fact is Harris has the fastest, slowest, & only time in the full court dribble. this question is all opinion. there is no specification of distance, so of course its opinion. you’ve got to explain the neighbor/Usain Bolt analogy. Way over my simple head. i feel dumb for even arguing with you at this point. fast, faster, fastest. in order for someone to be fastest, they must first be faster than someone else. but since no one has run the race, except for Harris, calling him fastest cannot be considered factual. and this would only apply if we excepted the full court dribble as the barometer for NBA’s Fastest Man.

I honestly did not know that you could establish an actual record by performing an act by yourself that no one has attempted before. So by that idealogy if I kicked a porcupine, barefoot, 5 feet from where I was standing, I would have the record for the “longest barefoot porcupine kick IN THE WORLD”…….Interesting.

    Fastest
    C- D. Howard
PF- Tyrus Thomas (whenever he chooses to sprint)
SF- King James (maybe fastest ever for his position)
    SG- Leandro Barbosa
PG- Nate Robinson (without the rock), Derrick Rose (with the rock)

You could debate the points all day….Harris, TJ Ford, Rondo, Felton are all insanely fast with the rock baseline to baseline.

exactly. if you can get the guiness people to show up for your record porcupine kick, then you too can go down in history right alongside Devin Harris, the fingernail lady, and the fattest twins of all time!

I actually don’t care if he holds the record or not. I think Devin Harris is the quickest and fastest. I really don’t take recorded times serious, because once they get on the court a lot of guys are faster and a lot of guys are slower, but D. Harris is a blur on the court. When he played for the Mavs he always made Tony Parker look slow in my opinion.

This is the lamest discussion topic I have ever read,

I mean, how can you determine who is the fastest just by watchin’ the game and looking at stats,
you must need a standard running/ sprint test to determine that with trainners and accurate measurements.

Stop wasting your precious time on this blog topic !!!

I base it off of what they do on the court. A sprinting test is completly different from a basketball game, and the last time I checked they were playing basketball and not running track. Just like I don’t pay much attention to the NFL combine.

whats so difficult about this topic is that its so hard to really grasp a players speed unless you are on the court with them. some guys are deceptively fast, some guys have real smooth movements so they dont look as fast as they might be, and then others are so hyper-active that they appear faster than they really are. i think thats why i consider the testing times, yet they can be deceiving as well since they dont always translate to game speed.
