halfdecayedParticipantI honestly never saw a more toxic fanbase in all sports.. I think most of it is because 80% of Golden State’s fanbase are casual fans that started watching basketball last year.. But man, seeing comments like Curry will be Lebron to the hall of fame, Curry is the Goat, and then they complain about Warriors having so many haters, well guess what, maybe people wouldn’t hate so much on them if ESPN didn’t write a post about them every 2 hours and idiots commenting trying to belittle every other team.. I don’t want to disrespect knowledgeable fans that have been watching them even through tough times, but man, I’d be a little ambarassed to have so many dumb fans linked to my team..
Rant over, let the negs rain..

SubZeroParticipantI don’t know, it’ll be hard to beat out Miami fans circa 2010-2014

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantAre you trying to be ironic when you spell embarrassed ambarassed when referring to dumb fans…because that would be funny.

JDB12ParticipantI don’t know where you’re getting this from… Golden State has been linked to having one of the best fanbases in the NBA back to Baron Davis and Jason Richardson days. Yes, there have been a substantial amount of bandwagoners in the last couple years, but I most of them are genuine fans. And there are always stupid fans for every team in every sport saying that they’re best player is the best and a sure Hall of Famer. And all I’ve heard about Stephen Curry being referred to as the GOAT is that he will achieve that status if he keeps this level of play for the next 4 to 5 years, and wins another 3 or 4 championships. And if he does accomplish that, I believe you’d have a legitament argument for him being the GOAT. I’m NOT saying he will be if he does that, but you have an argument.
And I don’t really ever hear the Warriors having "so many haters." Most basketball fans I know may dislike them because they beat down their favorite team, but respect the kind of basketball they play.
And the reason they’re on ESPN all the time is because they really are unbelieveable and accomplished or came near accomplishing some seemingly untouchable feats. i.e. Warriors breaking the Bulls 72-10 record, Steph making 402 three pointers, almost going undefeated at home, and then simply making highlight plays. I mean it seemed like Steph would knock down a half court shot every other week, which I believe deserves to be on ESPN. Yes, it can be monotonous seeing them always on there, but they deserve to have all the media attention.
And I’ve never heard the "idiots" commentating belittling other teams. They’ve just been complementing the Warrior’s success and accomplishments, and will point out why other teams might not be at that level. That’s not belittling another team just because they aren’t as good as someone else. If anything, a lot of people belittle the Warriors saying that they wouldn’t be anything in past eras.
And I’m not defending the Warriors because I’m a fan because I’m not. The Wolves are my team (who did take down the Warriors at home… No big deal), but I recognize great basketball when I see and admire it. Other than watching the Wolves, the Warriors and Spurs are my favorite teams to watch because they simply play good basketball, and the Warriors play an exciting, fast paced game.

OaktownWarriorsParticipantI’ve been following and watching in person the Dubs since the Mullins early days and within the Bay Area, there are many true Dubs fans that have been following them for sometime. But like any team and sport, come playoff time the casual fan with some cash money are the ones that can attend the playoffs games as they “jack up” the prices. The Heat will forever top my list as the worst fans ever! Am I not to sure who’s complaining about the haters??? I never see or hear anybody speaking about haters at the games? When I’m watching the game in person or on local TV, I don’t really think of other people that hate on the Dubs or us fans? I’m just checking out the game.

ExumInfernoParticipantIt isn’t the Warriors fans that are annoying, they used to be loud and at games in big numbers when they were bad, it is all the bandwagon newcomers that are giving them a bad name.
It is the new thing there, the place to be, and all these people who scammed a few billion with some computer program are turning up to drink champagne and be seen. They couldn’t name three players on the team, let alone Run-TMC or even Antawn Jamison.
When the Warriors lose, and these people go back to art shows or whatever else they think is the new trend there, then the better fans will be back.
The Warriors are becoming very annoying, the new fans, the coach who doesn’t turn up except for receiving awards, one or two fo the loudmouth players and one might be D Green.

Hype MachineThe oldschool Dubs fans were rabid and loyal. I cant hate on them at all.
A lot of people who arent into basketball that much will just support the Dubs now cos theyre the best and most exciting. These fans are image conscious more than anything else and would attach themselves to whoever is trending at the time.
Plus, California is a major tourism hotspot and tourists have deep pockets…yet quiet voices.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantCurry will be lebron to the hall of fame? If anyone said that I would say they are an idiot because it doesn’t make any sense lol.
Golden state just won 73 games and play an extremely exciting brand of ball. Of course they are going to generate a ton of media coverage and pick up a lot of casual fans. They are what’s happening right now and have an extremely marketable superstar in curry. You saw the same thing happen in Miami with lebron. However, there have been a lot of long-standing warriors fans dating back to the Rick Barry days that have suffered through a lot of losing seasons with this franchise.

HitsterParticipantGSW have always had a good fanbase not as passionate as say the Sac-Town hardcore mob but the issue is clearly with bandwagon jumpers who latch onto the recent success or suddenly started buying Steph Curry merchandise.
This happens in a load of team sports all over the world so GSW are nothing different.
