BogDon_KryptParticipantI bet my roommate on Beasleys height. Roommate said 6"10 and I said 6"7. On espn and Wikipedia he’s "listed" as 6"10 but if found various sources that’s he’s actually about 6"8. Can you guys give your opinion/knowledge on this so we can settle this bet?

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantShoes usually add anywhere from 1.25in – 1.75in. If he was 6’7 when he was 19, I’m sure he’s grown at least half an inch since then.
In shoes, he’s probably very close to 6’9.

Chilbert arenasParticipantNowhere near 6’10, does he look as tall as Lebron out there let alone two inches taller? I’d say listing him at 6’8 would be fair, but I wouldn’t assume he kept growing after being drafted. The stories about players continuing to grow after being in the league for a year or two are usually based off false listings in the first place, and for this reason I think NBA listings should be barefoot measurements rounded to the closest inch, not rounded up. Don’t give me the “they play in their shoes argument”. Football players play in cleats but are measured w/out shoes and rounded appropriately, so when Blake Griffin is actually 6’8.5 he’s listed at 6’10, does that make sense?

HitsterParticipantPeople list height without shoes as their actual height but with basketball the player has his trainers on so that gives us his offical playing height IMO.
Likewise in the NFL a player would have his natural weight but in all his kit he’ll be significantly heavier and that is the weight that will hit the opposition in effect.

akaftanParticipantEvery since he was a sophomore in high school, Beasely has been listed at either 6’8" or 6’9". As has previously been mentioned, he was measured at 6’7" barefoot at the pre-Draft camp, and a little over 6’8" in shoes. Since his height had been roughly the same for approximately four years, I doubt he has grown since those measurements.
Guaging height from pictures like the the one he is in with Durant can be difficult, since that depends largely on angles.
