I’ve watched this guy play a few times, and I think he’s a sleeper in the second round (or rookie free agent pool.)

He’s got serious all-around skills and feel for the game. A team like Chicago that needs offense would not be wasting the 49th pick on him.

In the CAA he was virtually unstoppable one-on-one and almost led Division I in rebounding.

You put him in with the 2nd unit for 15 min., he’ll get you 7 pts./4 reb. easy.

…I thought the same thing about Gary Neal when he went undrafted.

I really just posted this so I could refer back to it when Benimon makes an NBA team, whether this year or after Europe. You can neg me all you want now. 🙂

Benimon is a stud. I think he’d be a great guy to invite to your camp. I don’t know if he’ll get drafted, and he’s one of the guys that I’ll occasionally put in my mock at 59 or 60, but I still think he’s a bit of a longshot to get picked.

He was everything for Towson this year, and I caught him against Kansas where he put up 21/10/5 in a blowout. Still even Kansas’ 2nd unit boasted 6’10” and 6’9” athletic beasts in Tarik Black and Jamari Traylor. Their 3rd string center was 6’10” Landon Lucas, so he performed against a lot of size.

I followed up on him after that game, and he had a nice PIT where he put up 11 ppg 11.5 rpg and 4 apg. He just brings a nice all around skillset, and a player who can act as a high post facilitator in a 2nd or 3rd unit. I really do love the high low post game, and Jerrelle would flourish in a system that worked that type of game into their system ( The Spurs, for instance who have the 60th pick ).

JT3 looks like an idiot for not playing him much at G’town…. He is a big-time sleeper, but the fact that he is likely only 6’7 won’t help. He could be a Dajuan Blair or Brandon Bass if he catches on with the right team.

I brought him up last year and it didn’t seem like anyone knew much about his game. I like him. He has a nice foundation of skills and was a beast in his two years at Towson. He’s worth a flier in the second to me.

He’s Royce White without the mental issues, he is an excellent rebounder and can do it all on offense.

Jerrelle was signed by Denver to a two year partially guaranteed contract. Glad for him, he had a really nice summer league stint with the Nuggets.
