Why do fans shut down the Kevin Durant to the Washington Wizards? Him going their make tons of since in terms of on the court and off the court.

He will be playing in the weaker eastern conference, the conference don’t look to be become strong over night and if he goes to any playoff eastern conferense team they are a lock to reach the eastern conferense finals. With the Wizards team right now he can win a championship

He will have a great supporting cast in John Wall, Bradley Beal, and Marcin Gortat. John Wall is the 4th best point guard ( in my books ), Bradley Beal looks like a future star in the playoffs, and Marcin Gortat is maybe a top 10-12 center in the game. Throw into the mix you have Otto Porter who looked like a great role player that can make threes and guard the best wing player on the opposing team.

I know people would say that " why would he leave Westbrook and Ibaka for John Wall and Bradley Beal " and " why would he leave the better team in the Thunder to go to the Wizards". Those questions can be answered easily by he will be playing in the eastern conferense and John Wall might fit in better with Kevin Durant than Russell Westbrook ever did.

I can only see him going to the Wizards if he ever leave the Thinder mostly because of what I said above. I’m not saying he will go the Wizards and im not even Wizards fan, but I seen every time someone post a Kevin Durant to the Wizards they always get negged down and people act like it’s impossible for him to go there.

    A startiing line up of

    • PG: John Wall
    • SG: Bradley Beal
    • SF: Kevin Durant
    • PF: Possibly Bobby Portis or a stretch 4 that can block shots
    • C  : Marcin Gortat

would be nasty and I can see them winning championships.

John Wall might be a better fit than Westbrook?? Wall actually passes the ball instead of running down the court and taking a contested jump shot basically every possession. Westbrook is a great player and an insane athlete but I wonder why anybody would want to play with this guy. He takes absolutely terrible shots. Wall is an elite passer and Durant would benefit greatly from playing with a true point guard in my opinion. Wall on the break with Durant and Beal filling the wings??? Scary thought for eastern conference opponents.

1st off home is where ever you make it. And currently KDs home and Legacy is in OKC. There is really no reason for KD to leave for DC unless he truly dislikes playing along side with Westbrook. His best chance of winning a championship is with OKC. Yea of course he can sell him self out and go to DC b/c of the weaker conference but I doubt that. Winning a ring in the west makes it that much Rewarding. Look at what Steph did. Beat the Pelicans with Anthony Davis, Beat the Grizzles with Marc Gasol, beat the Rockets with James Harden and now has a chance to beat the Cavaliers and Lebron. That’s the whole NBA 1st team that Steph is about to run through.

And people forget the top tandem in the league when healthy is Kd and Westbrook. Not steph and klay, not lebron and kyrie, not  and James Harden and Dwight. Throw in the fact that they have one of the best supporting cast in the NBA. A new HC with a new outlook and I see OKC vs the Warriors next season in the conference finals easily the two teams that will set themselves apart from the rockets, clippers, Grizzles blazers whoever

Financially the Thunder can pay him more money, they have a better overall roster, their second best player is arguably the best player in the league depending on who you ask (and if said person is drunk) and if I’m going to believe that Kevin Durant is the 2nd best player in the world I’m willing to bet they can get to the Finals next year if they are fully healthy.

The only reason for him to leave is to play for his home team but unlike Lebron he wasn’t drafted by the Wizards like LBJ was drafted by the cavs and spent 6-8 years before leaving chasing a ring.

Regardless of the conference KD’s best chance to win a ring is still in OKC.

There’s more than just playing with his hometown team. Do you really believe that having to beat most likely 3 50 win teams to reach the NBA finals is easier than playing only 1 50 win team in the east? And I said the team by team thing is kinda of irrelevant because of fit and being able to play in the east.

So what your telling me KD is a sell out. He is gonna leave the by Far more talented team that can beat whoever in the West Period. When healthy, the team he has already built a legacy with to got to his hometown team with less talent, but in a weaker conference, taking less money in hopes of winning a championship with john wall and Bradley heal and a older gortat lol. I don’t see it happening not a chance but we gotta see how this free agency period, draft and season go.

How does that make him a sell out?

He would be selling out himself by going to a weaker conference and a overall  weaker team for a chance to win a championship. The cavaliers will still be a better team in the east and whoever comes out of the westt will most likely be a better team as well

No, he is going leave a team that is not fully committed to winning it all. You don’t waste a first rounder on Josh Huestis
if you are trying to be a champion.

Nobody is shutting down or whatever. But in this debate it’s pretty clear that most of the opinions are more like "I wish " than "I think". I’m a fan of KD and OKC,so I don’t want him to leave, and he basically never said that he’d leave.

Durant is a guy who can make anytime a playoff/contender simply by being on the team. LeBron could be on the worst team in the NBA and probably make it a playoff team. Durant is close to that level.

Sure Washington would be great if Durant joined them. The fit might be better with Wall but what about the rest of the team though? Ibaka/Adams/Kanter is better than Washington’s big rotation—assuming Kanter resigns and Nene continues to regress.

I hope Durant stays in OKC. I don’t want to sound like the "good ole days" guy but all this movement all the time gets old. It would be nice if the top players in the league stayed where they were. You just don’t see top-5 players in a league switch teams very often in other sports and I would like it that way in the NBA.

You can not compare Dutrant to James its not even close. James always told the world he was from AKron Ohio. If not for the Wizards fans I would nt eve know Durant had any ties to that area.

I made a post saying Durant should leave and people got upset.  It actually makes sense for him to leave.  OKC being a better team does not matter.  If Spurs were in the East, they would make the Finals almost every year.  The competition in the East is so much weaker.  That is why Lebron can make it to 5 straight Finals and yet he only has two rings.
