Kobe only had 39, the liar! We all know that trading Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol was to keep the Lakers from developing a dynasty to unstoppable to contain. They were thinking that Kwame would finally come into his own and develop into Michael Jordan in a PF’s body we all expected him to. Or something like that. By the way, still think Kobe deserved the MVP in 2006. Michael Jordan could not even get to the play-offs with Kwame, Kobe was on the verge of winning a damn series. Kobe would than technically have 6 rings, as David Stern would be prepared to offer incredible bling to anyone who could carry Kwame out of the first round.

and i would like to add in the lakers were battling for first place that year with kwame before pau showed up.

But to the story, man kwame was awful. There were numerous games where he tried to hide from the ball and when he messed up, you could see him get nervous. I mean he would let one missed layup or fumbled pass lead to him messing up the rest the game. Damn kwame sucked. Boris diaw played center for the suns during one of those playoff series and diaw was just torching kwame like boris was tim duncan or something. And smush was junk too.

Speaking of Kwame, two years ago in Middle School, myself and a teamate kept bobbling passes, and our coach made us spent a good chunk of practice working on having sure hands. Another teamate told us we were just as butterfingered as Kwame Brown. Our coach said, "No, they’re not that bad".

And sorry to deter away from the topic, and I know LL already made a thread for it recently, but I would also like to put my vote out there for Kobe in regards to the 2006 MVP. I don’t care whether they won only 45 games, I wouldn’t even expect MJ to get 50 with those teamates. And I think that at the time, we all took 35 a game for granted. THIRTY-FIVE POINTS A GAME! It’s not like he did it once or twice, he AVERAGED it for a whole 82 game season. So what if he took 25 odd shots a game, his field goal percentage was pretty, good, not bad in any regards, and considering that his next best teamate was Odom, followed by Smush Parker, and whole lot of other scrubs. hell, even Jumaine Jones played an important part on that team(maybe not that team, but one of  Kobe’s post-Shaq teams). And plus, he was the sole focus point of the defense, and he STILL put up huge numbers? I have no clue how he didn’t get it that year. I swear, if he even had one more guy that was a legit third option(that could get maybe 12 points, 4 boards, 3 dimes) to go along with himself and Odom(Who actually played really well in the 06 and 07 playoffs) than I could confidently say that Kobe would have been in contention for a tittle for at least two of the three years between Shaq’s departure, and Pau’s arival.

haha yeah kwame is bad, I have to admit all jokes aside though, I remember reading that doug collins literally drained the confidence out of this dude, and his teammate would basically bully him(like slam him to the ground during practice, maybe that why hes scared of getting fouled). I mean i have posted several comments with jokes about him but I think the wizars scarred him for life or something, I think the only thing that makes it worse is(or was) his attitude(cake incident, wanting to punch Agent zero, faking stomach virus). I mentioned earlier this season that collins was stunning evan turners growth as well perhaps but he seems to be headed in the right direction as the season went along.

bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php heres the article about how kwame brown was treated during his time in washington its the first 2posts. WARNING this another basketball forum but the orginal article is unavailable anywhere else
