gopack10ParticipantOver the last few months, I’ve seen a couple of posts regard the site. Specifically about things that you, as readers and users don’t like or would like to see updated/changed. What I would like to do is open for discussion, some specific things that you would like to see done in this new year so that the main purpose for coming to the site isn’t just the forums but rather the content and basketball knowledge that you can gain from coming here.
We are currently working on updating the mobile application for the site. But what we would like to hear from you is what you would like to see with regards to content. Of course we will still give the normal conference updates each week but what is it that is missing from your overall experience here. We want this site to be your go-to for everything basketball related but with an emphasis on the Draft, obviously.
My email address is below. I would love to hear feedback from you, the NBADraft.net member base, as to what you would like to see happen in the coming year.

TheTruth86ParticipantMore stats – NCAA, Europe, Asia. Why not the NBA, too ? I mean like following recent draftees into their first couple of years. Analizyng their progress might be useful to predict current prospects’ future.

Lotto StudParticipantWeekly Podcasts from Aran along with Michael Visenberg is a priority for me being a long-time supporter. I do not like having to venture off just to hear others take on hot topics, because this is my primary source for open discussion with basketball.
Podcasts should be the same day each week for those to tune into the live feeds.
———————–
I’ll let others voice their needs over wants, but that’s the only major need I have going forward as an active member.

OrserParticipantStuff I’d like to see:
-Call the "mock draft" a "big board" until it’s actually meant to be a mock draft.
-NBADraft.net is different from other NBA draft sites that I know of in that it gives scores to players’ abilities, as well as an overall score (a lot of NFL draft sites do this as well). It’d be cool if there was some kind of tool to compare scores among players in a given year, or even across years.
-Similarly, a page listing all of the player comparisons would be cool.
-A "projected draft range" would also be cool.

JordanC20ParticipantI really enjoy the mock draft contest maybe have a few other games that we can play on a weekly or daily basis.

OhCanada-ParticipantOne pet peeve of mine I would be very happy to see resolved would be creating mock drafts. Other then the forum its my favourite feature of the site. Yet you can’t update the mock draft from a mobile phone. There are plenty of other sites that you can make a mock draft on a mobile phone and as I result I use another site to upkeep my own mock draft. I would rather just use this site.
More content would be nice. There’s no reason why a top end prospect like Kevin Looney has no scouting report and skills ranking. He should have 3 or 4 scouting reports by now. Half of the top freshmen in the country have no scouting report whatsoever.
Cleaning up the articles with a proofreader would be nice as well. Or just use spell check.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThe draft stuff is great, but the NBA draft only dominates a few weeks out of the year.
Do more NBA stuff AND more college stuff.
This is the best message board and website out there for basketball junkies (best I have found).
I wouldn’t change the headlines, but focus on doing NBA stuff, DRAFT stuff, and College Basketball stuff.
Maybe even keep updated stats on the top 10 or 20 college guys.
Like, I wanna know what Okafor, Towns, and the other freshmen are doing this year, and I want to compare their stats. That would be fun to track.
Fantasy basketball is big too, why not write articles on that, too?
Make this place the default go-to place for Basketball Junkies.

rileymcshea3Participant“Make this place the default go-to place for Basketball Junkies” totally agree with that, I think just about every one on the forums are big basketball junkies.
Not sure what the guy who started this thread meant by “Mobile application”, but an Nbadraft.net App would do wonders for this site if it were to make it more easy, accessible, and quicker.
Also everyone being basketball junkies everyone one of us love to express our opinions on players and teams, so making the site more interactive for us to agree and disagree on each other’s opinions would be great. What basketball junky doesn’t love to argue about who’s right about basketball? Maybe create a fan section where there are weekly events such as a weekly vote for example “If you had the number 1 overall pick for the draft right now would you pick?” with like 5 options to choose from.Or something like “Who’s the better center prospect Karl Towns or Jahlil Okafor?” It would be fun to see the results and have users argue why they think one should be picked over the other
Another weekly event in a fan section could be “Users mock” were we the users submit weekly mock drafts (doesn’t have to be full 2 rounds, could just be 1st round, or even just the lotto) where everyone’s mocks turn into one big nbadraft.net community big board that gets updated weekly seeing players rise and drop weekly. Doesnt have to be a front page thing, could be a section of its own, just seems like us users expressing our opinions in not just the forums could add a whole another element to the site. This could be asking for too much, but I think everyone on this site wants to know as much as possible about incoming draft prospects and how they are performing game to game. Maybe have a “Who’s hot section” that shows what draft prospects have had big games within recent days. There is a guy on YouTube who puts up games of big name college players who have big games all the time. I’d also like to see how guys like Wiggins and other rookies are producing in the nba right now and watching their development as the season goes on. Having a rookie section or young players section wouldn’t that bad of idea because the site is about draft prospect, and see how they actually perform once in the NBA would be a great thing to see
Also feel like this site should be the go-to site for getting information about the nba draft and draft prospects, instead of ESPN and draft express. The best way to do it is by allowing the average basketball fan to click on this website and learn about the draft prospects with the click of the mouse. For instance say your casual Knicks fan ( not a huge basketball junkie, so doesn’t know much about college basketball but a guy who just loves the Knicks) and him being a typical New Yorker is pissed about how the Knicks are performing this year, and needs a reason to look forward to the future and getting a high draft pick. So he types in “NBA draft” in Google, and ends up on this site. He should be able look at the big board/mock, click on a players name with a very organized/up to date player profile like espns and see how’s the player has been performing in college with his stats , recent games, YouTube videos (college and highschool), and maybe scouting reports about why this guy is rated so high allowing the reader to learn all bout a draft prospect within minutes. Having him thinking “Man this Jahlil Okafor guy is a freak! I’d loved to see him in a Knicks uniform next year getting buckets in our triangle offense.”
I have many other ideas, but it maybe asking for too much. I just see so much potential in this website with the many uses who get on daily and the great draft experts who run the site. Once again an app would be great lol.

juves4783Participantlove the site. is a nice go to during work breaks. here are some suggestions.
- get rid of the points – i think the intent is well but i feel it’s a little mismanaged. i know i’ve been docked over 1000+ points from the mock draft contests for some reason but i also feel users spend more time on points than adding substance.
- i think the front page forum section would be cool if they had the links like nba draft, nba, etc. instead of the latest "nba draft" topics so you people don’t have to post directly to nba draft to get their forum topic some attention on the front page.
- new forum topic for trade proposals. i know a lot of users get sick of the front page being littered with trade proposals.
- i think it would be cool if there was content like "where are they now?" for the prospects that never made it.
- add a big board as well as mock draft. maybe add more mock drafts from different writers. i like how espn works theres’ with dan goodman and chad ford offering different ones throughout the year.
either way, i’m happy if the site stayed the same. beggers can’t be choosers.

nick5354ParticipantMy input:
Clean up the layout and design of the page. Kind of feels like it is stuck in 1999 or 2000. The web page is often slow and feels gluggy.
About 90% or higher of the discussion take place in the main nba draft forum on the home page. When users want to post something they want to be heard, and posting it on the other forums it doesn’t get heard. So in turn people post whatever to the main forum board. The issue here is when it is a real hot news day say some playoffs, leading up to the draft or trade deadline so many topics get made that before long they disappear off the board.
More content needs to be added as well. You cannot be a called “NBAdraft.net” and not have scouting reports for the players. Of course not much can be done with real wildcards or out of nowhere prospects, but far too many prospects do not have scouting reports.
One thing the site should really maker sure it puts alot of energy into is the player abilities ad rankings. I love them and it is a unique part of the site which gives it a real competitive advantage over other sites. I would focus more on exploiting that advantage and making sure all prospects have their abilities and ranking sorted out. Far too many have no ranking or their abilities filled out.

ChoppyParticipantI’m not from the US and as such don’t get to follow college basketball much or at all except for what I see on this site (it’s my go-to site for everything basketball). When I look at the mock lottery on the front page I see players names, college and years experience but no position. It would help those of us with little experience watching the college game to see a projected NBA position on the mock lottery. I know I could click on each player to see their position (I frequently have to) but that would make things a bit easier for me.
On an unrelated note, I almost exclusively access this site from my phone and a tablet. On both devices I have experienced redirects (without selecting anything) to mobile porn sites. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? I say problem because once it happened while I was sitting next to my father in law… Only happens from this site. Weird.

OhCanada-ParticipantOnly about 20-25 players in the Top 50 of the big board have scouting reports/skill breakdowns. This includes Delon Wright, Kelly Oubre, Justice Winslow, Bobby Portis, Domantis Sabonis, Jake Layman, Tyrone Wallace, Jordan Mickey, and Ryan Boatright. Certainly hot topic freshman like Amidah Brimah, Jakob Poetl, Rashad Vaughn, and Dillon Brooks deserve an update. I would understand if 10 or so of the top 100 had no scouting report but having 65 of them with no info other then something I can find on Rivals without a membership isn’t too impressive.
Either way we love this site and will always come here for everything related to basketball but there comes a point where you guys who run the site and put in the work on this site have to decide if you’re comfortable with just being our favourite or if you also want to be the best.

It would be very informative to have a writer from the site post a daily "Question of the day:" for the NBA Draft section of the Forum to help with interaction of what you all have in thought with basketball talks. Topics may vary daily as well as the writers from the site.
