Vivid5292ParticipantWhy is this man out there playing as if he think he’s unstoppable? He’s being too selfish and really hurting his team chances at succeeding. I’m an advocate for him going out there & taking extra shots with Conley as his matchup, but he needs to be more smart and make better decsions or else the Thunder will find themselves out of the playoffs.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 7:55am #527242
Scottoant93ParticipantI agree, Last game brooks benched him after he took 2 stupid shots, once maynor came in the offense flowed flawlessly. Westbrook is a big part of thier team but he needs to realize this is KD team, and he has to be a pg, and not force the issue. If he does that Thunder will a threat to everyone.

ProudGrandpaParticipantWhy is this man out there playing as if he think he’s unstoppable?
Maybe it’s because of his Citizen Eco-drive watch…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:01am #527246
Vivid5292ParticipantI know this is random, but it needs to be brought at this point in time since its at display now. This is for all of you that compare Westbrook and Rose through stats. This is the difference between the two. Rose would not put his team in a bad position through consistent poor decisions. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just watch the game and it will be blatantly obvious unless he changes his attack on the game.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:06am #527249
FastAndFuriousParticipantMannnnn, I hate to admit this, but Westbrook is a jacker, he is an unbelivable talent yes, but he is a jacker, he shots too many shots, and doesn’t get his team involved and only passes when there is no other resort.
He is still my favorite PG but damn man
I wonder if him not coming on TV that much helped him, because with the exposure of him bein on TV all the time now his flaws are really showing
Hope he can get it together.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:06am #527250
Scottoant93ParticipantYou cant really fairly compare them off of this because Rose is the 1st option for the bulls, and Westbrook is the 2nd options… But rose is the superior player, He is not only a dominent scorer but he also puts his players in a postion to suceed, where as westbrook is a little more selfish. Both are extreme talents though and can’t deny that
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:22am #527259
SteroidParticipantLets not make it seem like Rose doesn’t make bad decisions. He takes bad shots too. I’ve seen Rose waste possessions by jacking up 3s in games until he makes one. It’s just that Rose is by far the best player on his team, and he is playing behind the best, statistical defense in the league. Westbrook uses up more offensive possessions that KD does. He is top 5 in offensive possession usage. That is a problem when he isn’t the best player on the team.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:25am #527260
FastAndFuriousParticipantO naw, I know Rose has his moments 2, but Westbrook has got to realize he has the #1 scorer in the league and he doesn’t have to do it himself
Look at the difference, when Westbrook is trigger happpy the Thunder are in a bad situtation, anytime KD get’s it going the Thunder are kicking ass
Ima huge Westbrook fan I take up for him all the time, but the ish is obvious, he needs to become more of a PG plain and simple, you can just out run people to the rim all the time, he needs to learn how to control the game better.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:27am #527262
IndianaBasketballParticipantRose makes bad decisions, etc as well, but he’s just a much better player than Westbrook.
It’s always been easy to see. Westbrook is out of control. He’s wild and erratic. Rose knows how to move fast or slow down and just let the game come to him. Westbrook doesn’t understand that.
Rose is also more unselfish and he’ll make the right pass, despite not being a pure point guard himself. Westbrook literally looks off teammates and takes shots he just shouldn’t take.
This is just why I’ve always thought Rose was a much better overall player, despite not being as active/live wire at the defensive end.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:31am #527266
SteroidParticipantDoes anyone here think that Westbrook could be a better player playing SG? I always thought that he would eventually move to SG. I mean with two players who can both score in bunches, they need a selfless player at the PG, not somone who will ball hog while having a 30ppg scorer on the team.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:34am #527270
IndianaBasketballParticipantWhich is why I thought OKC should’ve drafted Rubio and moved RW to the two.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:42am #527275
FastAndFuriousParticipantWestbrook is good at the position he’s in, he doesn’t need to play the 2
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:45am #527277
Scottoant93Participantdid anyone just see the play westbrook did. He backed down conley asked for a clear out and tried to attack the basketball with 3 players contesting him…called for offensive fouls. Thats what everyone is talking about he has bad dicision making
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:47am #527278
omphalosParticipantWestbrook is completely disrespecting Thabo too, he’s been wide, wide open a number of times begging for the ball and Russ just ignores him.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:54am #527287
RUDEBOY_ParticipantWestbrook looks to score more when Harden or any other the the Thunder offensive players arent producing…But he must realize he’s suppose to create plays for them…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:58am #527289
SteroidParticipantHe is what he is, but he is definitely a psuedo PG. He can make plays, has passing and ball handling skills, but just because he can make plays doesn’t mean his best position is PG.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:11am #527293
IndianaBasketballParticipantJust watch RW’s shot selection… It’s terrible.
He takes shots that just makes you say, "Wow…" I mean, they’re not even good shots.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:12am #527294
omphalosParticipantSo many forced shots, he’s not even looking at getting Durant the ball unless it’s a bailout. Frustrating player to watch.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:14am #527295
B FreeParticipantI have been thinking about this all post season, With the way Maynor and Harden have played when they are on the floor at the same time what lineup would you rather have..
PG- Maynor
SG- Harden
SF- Durant
PF- Ibaka
C-Perkins
or the lineup they have now with Westbrook and Thabo?
And if you do choose Maynor and Harden would you trade Westbrook to Cleavland for the picks? Maybe Draft Kanter? Just a thought you don’t have to take it to seriously.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:15am #527297
IndianaBasketballParticipantWestbrook is too busy trying to take the game instead of seeing the game. He doesn’t see the game right.
Questionable decision making.
And to be so good defensively, he’s giving up too much penetration to Conley.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:24am #527303
FastAndFuriousParticipantNo way Maynor ever starts over Westbrook
You people starting to trip big time, let’s not forget Westbrook still is elite, yes he makes bonehead decisions but you don’t bench people with super potential
He still has 26pts 8 Rebounds 6 assist
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:25am #527304
IndianaBasketballParticipantLet’s give Mike Conley some credit though… He has that ball on a string and is making all of the right passes.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:28am #527309
omphalosParticipantConley has really stepped it up in the post-season, I agree, but Westbrook’s ball-dominance cost them the game.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:30am #527311
billykParticipantThis Westbrook-Durant duo is might end similar to the Garnett-Marbury duo…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:31am #527312
butidonthavemoneyRight now "questionable" is a very generous word to describe Russell Westbrook’s decision-making.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:35am #527315
omphalosParticipantIf the Thunder lose this series to the Grizzlies, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sam Presti made a drastic move to get a more conventional PG.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:44am #527319
B FreeParticipantI think Cleavland would go nuts for Westbrook and offer the 2 and 8 for him, to have another proven marketable star. People have already said Westbrook acts and seems like a guy who wants to be the man on the team.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:49am #527325
TC_42ParticipantI would love to see a Westbrook for Chris Paul trade, given that Paul is prob out of NOH anyway… at least the Hornets could get something back.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:54am #527327
TC_42ParticipantOr Westbrook + Perkins for Dwight.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:56am #527329
Scottoant93ParticipantIf cavs get the number one pick or Irving is available, then thunder might consider it. This draft is weak, so having lotto picks are not that vaulable as in last years or next.
@TC_42 That would be amazing but I don’t know if that would happen, Thunder would have to throw in some extra players maybe picks. NOH wont give up Paul that easily even if he might leave
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:59am #527330
llperezKd needs to get better at defense. Russ leaves it all out there on defense and kd doesn’t which is probably part of the reason Russ feels he Is the man. See the play towards the end where Russ denied the imbounds to Conley so they threw it into battier who is a poor ball handler and kd never got within 5 feet of him just let him dribble it all the way up the court and start the offense with no ball pressure.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 10:02am #527331
FastAndFuriousParticipantThat’s why I say Westbrook is not all the blame tho, he plays hard Defense, NEVER gives up on any play, rebounds, while Durant is a scorer and thats really it.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 10:04am #527333
B FreeParticipantI get that but if they can add lets say Kanter, because I just don’t think Perkins is the right fit or even that good. And maybe they do taake another PG thinking that Maynor isn’t the guy at 8 they good get Knight, or they could grab Kwali Leonard and get some more defense with the upside to be a Gerald Wallace type for them, a glue guy. I think this is a better lineup
PG Knight
SG Harden
SF Durant
PF Ibaka
C Kanter
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 10:09am #527335
TC_42ParticipantYou guys must have missed Durant’s defense in game 5. Westbrook has spurts of crazy hustle, but every Thunder fan would agree that his defense has regressed this season. If he misses a layup (often because he struggles to finish at the rim), he argues for a foul and then waits to half @ss it back up the court. Pay attention… this happens all the time.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 10:11am #527337
joecheck88Participantruss makes some mistakes and takes some bad shots but some of you guys are going too far. im not trading my all star point guard for 2 picks. that may be easier if harden showed that he could handle being a second option but i dont believe he has. the chris paul trade is an idea though it is hard to see as well. i would give westbrook another year at point before i would say trade him or move him to the 2. he is a 22 year old 3rd year point guard, there is still room for improvement.
if he can cut the bad shots in half and become a better finisher at the rim, this wont be an issue.
0- Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 10:38am #527359
Vivid5292ParticipantThe real question is will he? Cause for the time being, they’re down 0-1 and he’s taking on a big responsiblity seeing as he is their point guard.

FastAndFuriousParticipantThat was ONE PLAY, give me another example seriously cut that crap, I watch Westbrook and that happened ONE TIME
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 11:10am #527379
Too coolParticipantHes trying to put his team on his back doe like Jennings from the Packers LOL "he broke his … leg"
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 11:45am #527391
kanyedabestParticipantOKC has some serious thinking as to what to do regarding westbrook do u pay him the max money hes gonna want or do u try and package him? at the rate hes going taking shots, bad descions hes gonna stunt Ibakas growth on offense and definetly harden and maybe even durant as crazy as tht is to say, but OKC needs a pure PG….. just food for thought
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 11:51am #527393
M-DYMESParticipantIn my greatest DNYCE voice..
How bout this trade…
Lakers get Westbrook
Thunder get Fisher & Walton
Lets face it the Thunder need savvy vets to get to the next level. Enter the leadership of a Fisher combined with the "team above all concept" of a Luke Walton while getting rid of the problem child in Westbrook. The Thunder instantly become championship competitors while the Lakers acquire a PG for the future. Perfect trade for both teams. Maybe the Lakers get the thunder’s 2nd round pick too for giving up such a leader in Fisher.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 12:42pm #527408
ghrghrParticipantMike Conley – 7 assists 0 turnover
Russel Westbrook – 6 assists 7 turnovers. Westbrook had one turnover less than the whole Memphis team.
The PG matchup will decide this series, because we’ve seen that Randolph and Durant will get their points even if a great defender is on them. Westbrook didn’t provide what OKC needed and they lost(Harden didn’t play well either), but it is way too soon to be doubting Westbrook.
Trading him would be very risky, as there aren’t many better PGs in the league and OKC has no glaring holes in any position. He is going to ask for a max contract and OKC is going to give it to him and sooner or later he should help them to win a championship.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 1:31pm #527413
FastAndFuriousParticipantRussell Westbrook only 4th player in NBA HISTORY 4,000 points, 1,500 assist, and 1,000 rebounds in first 3 seasons and a 2010-11 NBA Allstar nuff said.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 3:04pm #527424
youngmagParticipantI agree dude are going over board.
Kid was the MVP for this team this season and last years playoffs he was on point.
He need to learn the position some more, when he does will be fighting for the top spot in the game.
Do you give up on that after these games?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 3:13pm #527428
ProudGrandpaParticipantSame person, two accounts? hmm? anyone?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/01/2011 - 4:32pm #527438
aamir543ParticipantWhat has gotten into this kid? He is an amazing player and has played well his whole career complementing Kevin Durant. Did he have lunch with Allen Iverson and Stephon Marbury? Is he jealous of Derrick Rose? Does he see a matchup advantage but just cant get the shots to fall? If I were Sam Presti, I would launch a police investigation and have his phone searched. Because players dont turn into this overnight. Is he trying to play hero ball, or just tired of being called a second bannana. I hope he puts it together, or else the Thunder will be finished. He took 23 or more shots 8 times this season, but three already this postseason. And its not like we saw a trend at the end of the season. The first 6 games of the playoffs, he had 3 such games, but the last 19 games of the season, he had none such games. I am telling you, cut all Marbury and Iverson connectrions to this kid, I bet you he is making secret trips to China and Turkey.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/03/2011 - 6:16pm #528151
FastAndFuriousParticipantYeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa so where them haters at?
Told ya that was a fluke OKC got these dudes
0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/03/2011 - 6:19pm #528154
apb540ParticipantThe Thunder should probably try and trade him.
