Rising Stars game sucks

Had to turn it off…the effort is so bad on defense that it simply is unwatchable at this point.

It was def hard to watch……. Jabari Parker looked really explosive….. That was nice to see coming off that injury…..

Never a more true word spoken. Its only surpassed by the All Star game in terms of lameness.
What is the point of uncompetitive sports? Sports by their very definition are athletic contests. Its not a contest if no-one is actually trying to win.
As we have established that its not sport…it therefore can only be defined as an ‘Improv Theatre Production’.
And as far as the Performing Arts goes….its dreadful. If I wanted to watch athletes with no performing arts talent attempt to entertain…I’d set my netflix to watch Shaq bomb in Kazaam…or worse yet Dennis Rodman in Double Team.
Lets be honest….The entire All Star weekend is for kids and those who worship celebrity culture.
Quality basketball is completely absent.

Don’t understand why they think taking pull up 3’s and throwing horrible lobs is "giving the fans a show", because it’s really not. I’m not asking the kids to dive on the floor for loose balls but at least give some effort on defense and embrace the opportunity to win the match up. Getting in a stance won’t get you hurt or injured.

  The best is when they just isolate individual players and let them play one on one like Kyrie and branden knight the one year. It would have been nice to see towns or okafor vs porzingis go at each other for 5 or 6 straight possesions. Also lavine vs wiggins would have been fun to watch. I would have even settled for clarkson vs mudiay. That way at least one player is forced to play defense.

I haven’t tried to watch the rising star game for at least a decade. In regards to the All-Star game I only watch the beginning of the first quarter and maybe the fourth quarter if the game is close.

These games tend to be very high scoring even the All star game which may include a vast amount of all NBA defensive guys too. I guess players want to entertain an a coach has to use the whole roster but there is a fine line between attractive basketball and trying to play show reel/Globtrotter type moves.
I wonder if a defensive minded coach has ever tried to play lock down stuff during an AS game, I guess that players might just start doing their own thing if the coach isn’t their regular coach.
