OhCanada-ParticipantBruce Brown, Jordan Nwora , 2 late 1st round picks in 2024 (probably 25-30 for both) and a 2026 Indiana pick. Kira Lewis also comes to Toronto from New Orleans.
Should’ve traded him a long time ago when his value was higher, but better late than never. Massive haul for a player that is a UFA next year and wouldn’t be returning. Picking up Bruce Brown is gonna be a huge W for this team if we can retain him, hes on contract for next season as well.
Toronto tried to go all in with OG/Siakam/FVV and they failed. Traded picks for Poeltl which backfired. Now they are salvaging and have one a good job imo bringing in some draft capitol and Quickley/RJ/Brown

BothTeamsPlayedHard-ParticipantI have to believe Bruce Brown is going to be moved for another first rounder in the next month.

OhCanada-ParticipantMaybe, if they keep losing. This team is pushing for the play in. They needed Bruce Brown so bad. Doesn’t need touches, hard worker, great character. The team had too many players that needed touches and played the same role. I’d rather they keep him and pushed hard to resign him rather then getting another late 1st tbh.

HitsterParticipantAlways worth noting when Kevin Pritchard makes a deal and the Pacers have not given up any key guys apart from Brown. If Siakam resigns with the Pacers then it is a great deal for them as the picks given away are this year and in 2026 so there is little risk there.
The Raptors getting 3 first rounders for a guy who was an UFA this summer is a great return and Brown gives them further options. If they get lucky in the lottery they will be very busy on draft night. But they already have potentially 23rd,28th and 31st picks so they have a ton of draft options to trade up or look to extract the BPA or address a few needs across the team. They could take an NBA ready guy with less upside and take a tilt at a high risk upside guy so they have nice options.

OhCanada-ParticipantBiggest loser is Kira Lewis. Gets traded to Toronto in January while its -10C 15F type weather at night right after they got their PG of the future in Quickley. Wonder who he pissed off in NO.

BothTeamsPlayedHard-ParticipantThe GM and owner wanted to get under the luxury tax, and Lewis hasn’t been good. While back of the lottery rookie scale salaries aren’t huge, they can get guys out of the G-League who can help them more for less money.

HitsterParticipantKira Lewis’ production has gone down season by season and he was unlikely to get a new deal from NOP so it is effectively a salary dump. He may get more minutes at the Raps to try and put himself in the shop window for future global basketball opportunities.

HitsterParticipantBruce Brown has that massive team option for next year, that could be a nice trading chip for Toronto around draft night if any team wants to shift salary if none or only a small amount of his money is guaranteed.
