GreenLanternParticipantI’m telling ya’ll this trade is going down: The Sixers and TWolves are going to swap Turner for Cousins. This is why it will happen: It is not a secret that Minny’s #1 draft target is Evan Turner, as it has been said in numerous media sources. It is also not a secret that Minny has a TON of assets to trade up to the #2 slot. The Sixers do NOT have an immediate need on the perimeter, but they do have one in the frontcourt, and Cousins is expected by many to be the premiere impact bigman in this draft at this point. Cousins also fits new coach Doug Collins rugged/tough play style, and Turner fits Coach Rambis’ triangle offense perfectly (which is why they want him so bad) as a big point forward perimeter player. The Wolves will NOT be bringing in 5 freakin rookies to play for them next year. The whole reason they aquired so many picks is so they could move up for this exact situation. Mark this down for your mock drafts– the Wolves will trade the 4 and 16 pick to the Sixers and effect swap Turner for Cousins. This will vindicate Kahn from last year as the Wolves will still have two first rounders to build their team. The Sixers simply could not turn this deal down unless A) Philly gets a better offer involving an impact/all-star level veteran, which is unlikely to put it mildly or B)Cousins sinks himself though interviews and bombs in workouts, which is more likely but I don’t think will happen. So Mr. Kahn and TWolves nation, you say you want Evan Turner to bring your team to the next level? Then go get him.

thaprodigyParticipantFrom what lve been hearing the Sixers like Favors more then Cousins
0- Posted on: Sun, 05/23/2010 - 1:48pm #319880
GreenLanternParticipantEven if that’s true theprodigy the Nets are very likely to draft Favors and besides the Sixers would be beyond stupid to take Favors at 2 instead of taking this deal, getting two top 20 picks and probably some cap space.

IndianaBasketballParticipantGreat post. It’s on point. I can see this happening. Makes sense on every level for the 76ers and T-Wolves to do this deal.
All of the experts seem to think the 76ers will move the pick.

jdstormParticipantIt definitely makes sense makes sense for minnesota, but i think Turner is going to be a special type player. the only way i would consider it is if someone offered to trade brand for an expiring contract.
though there aren’t many teams i could see doing that. Even for the second pick

joecheck88Participantas a sixers fan, i wouldnt mind favors or cousins. either one has bust potential but also have huge potential to be stars. and with such a deep draft the 16th pick could land another lottery talent in such a deep draft, like a whiteside, patterson, udoh, motiejunas, etc to create depth in the frontcourt. and minny would get their guy and still have other picks in a deep draft. if i am gm of my favorite team, i try to get a couple of draft picks in the early 2nd round or late first.

the microwaveParticipantim from philadelphia area and nothing i have read indicates this is being discussed or even a possibility. Now im not saying i do not like the idea of it. I feel philly could fill a few neeeds, but the guy who posted this arfticle said philadelphia does not need a perimeter player>> That is our biggest need hands down. We have no shooter on the wing what so ever.
Evan Turner fills the void 100 % for BIGGEST NEED… but if we can land cousins + a legit 2 guard im all for it.. both are needs perimeter threat is biggest..

JNixonParticipantI’d have no problem with Cousins and Turner being swapped for 1. I agree with this post, and I think it’s realistic

joecheck88Participantya lets say they get cousins and henry/james anderson, i think thats a win for philly.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI dunno. If Philly moves the pick I believe Brand is going with it.
I agree however, I think Minny is super interested in ET. He fits perfectly.

Charlie SheenParticipantI like this deal
Minnesota gets:
#2- Evan Turner
Elton BrandPhiladelphia gets:
#4- DeMarcus Cousins
#16- Xavier Henry
Kevin LoveBut Minnesota is still undersized in the frontcourt Brand/Jefferson isnt much of an upgrade from Love/Jefferson and Love fits the triangle better than both of them

KahnJr.ParticipantAs a wolves fan i like the trade idea but minny has to keep one of their later picks to get a scorer or shot blocker and look to free agency for another

knicks82ParticipantSo Mareese Speights is no good? I mean I watched alot of sixers games and when Speights was healthy hes a very good player. They also have Dalembert, whos good for bounds and blocks. So idk, I guess it wouldnt hurt to have another quality big.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/23/2010 - 8:20pm #320023
ballinbParticipantSpeights is of a 4 so he and cousins would play well together seeing that speights can hit the mid range jumpshot. I hope the sixers are able to find a star because they need a new face of the franchise, iggy isn’t it and jrue looks solid but nothing like a superstar yet. I do have a lot of optimism that jrue will develop and make an all star team or two. The switching of the picks makes a great deal of sense

NYK2010ParticipantLast year all the experts though the Grizz and Kings could be moving their picks.
Philly needs to draft Turner, not sure they will but he’ll be the best player available.
No one is taking Brand’s contract now and they need to start trading some big salaries like Iguodala, and long term contracts like Louis Williams.
They have some bigs in Dalembert, Brand, Speights.0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/23/2010 - 11:58pm #320088
RUDEBOY_ParticipantAll of Collins coached teams have played a slow paced offense and have finished at the bottom in every offensive category..He create plays to let his star players go one-on-one… then the player kicks it out if he can’t get his shot off to a 3 point shooter..In his days in Chicago,Detroit & Washington.. Collins had several 3 point shooters on those rosters..But Philly has only 1 thats Kapono..So sitting Thad Young to give 1 dimensional player like Kapono extra minutes to space the floor for Iggy or Brand will not make sense…Collins will have to change that slow down offense to fit the current Philly roster..They called him Play-Day Collins in his Chicago days becuz he draw up different plays everyday..That might be what Holiday, Young or Speights need, plays drew up for them..

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantthe T’Wolves will have to offer the 4th/16th/and Second rounder…It’s simple pick for picks…Favors and Henry will be the top 2 prospects on the Sixers board…after that they want a SF to back up Thad or Backup Pg( Scottie Reynolds will sign there in the summer)….
NEXT…Iguadola will be traded to the Blazers for Camby/Webster/22nd pick…that pick will get them a backup Sf(Babbit or D.James) Iggy is gone and the Blazers want him…Camby/Oden and Prybilla are interchangable in the deal but the lesser talent equals Rudy swapping places with Martell..Sixers will throw in J.Smith and possibly L.Williams…
These Trades should go down …Minny loves Turner…The 4th and 16th picks and a late 2nd rounder(Reynolds) for the 2nd overall sounds good…Draft Favors/Henry and hometown All American Scottie Reynolds and Trade Iggy and J.Smith for Camby/Webster and the 22nd pick…Draft Babbit or James to backup Thad and replace Sam Dalembert with Camby..Webster is a shooter and could start while X Man Henry gets used to the NBA…If Babbit is there and becomes Mullins 2.0..He and Thad become a good scoring SF combo…Favors will be a beast…If he and Jrue become Payton and Kemp 2.0…along with a better Jimmy Jackson (Xavier) a defensive Center or 2…and 2 good bigs in Brand and Speights to help off the bench…hopefully Favors allows them to bench Brand and Start Speights this year..play EB in spot minutes…run Favors as the 3rd big…Brand needs to be brought out period,…Sammy needs to earn his next deal playing good D from the bench…
cap room next year(19 mil) and some young devoloping pieces(Holiday,Henry,Young,Favors,Speights,Webster,Reynolds,Babbit,Meeks) along with Vets Camby and Brand(if he doesn’t get brought out…that team could add a star and contend IMO…..
