    1. Minnesota: Anthony Edwards
    2. Golden State: James Wiseman

For I think the pick is pretty obvious and that is LaMelo Ball here. Charlotte needs to get people in the Spectrum and Ball does that. He is probably the best player in the draft but his efficiency might be the worst. He was in a higher level league so that may not mean much. Charlotte would get another PG to try and build around. I could see them looking at Okongwu or Toppin but LaMelo’s upside is too high. I see Graham more as a sixth man type and his efficiency might be as bad as LaMelo. It would definetly be a development year but Charlotte would have something special coming if they got him at #3. I understand the concerns about the LaVar Ball stuff but I think Melo is going to handle this differently.

I’ll go with Toppin. Okongwu is tempting because they need a rim-protecting center more than they need a versatile forward, but Toppin is the safer bet to be a really good NBA player.

Deni Avdija ahead of the safe bet Obi Toppin. Charlotte has been burned in the past drafting safe and are trying to recapture the Spurs model. James Borrego is a former Spurs assistant. Hornets have stated they are drafting for talent not for fit although it should also be pointed out that they already have drafted two capable PF’s in Bridges and they need a true wing/forward that can share playmaking duties with the gaurds.

Ball is not a high character guy I don’t see them drafting him.

Ok, maybe not good character but I dont think its bad. A lot of his teammates speak really highly of him.

Obi Toppin. Jordan’s Ego will emerge here as he is not willing to draft the son of LaVar Ball as he takes things personally. Plus, Jordan loves drafting those talented low ceiling upper classmen.

I think they go Okongwu. He will be a huge improvement on their defence from the get go and if he makes any strides on offence, he’ll be very good. It’s a gamble, but one I think they’ll make.

I agree with you that LaMelo would seem to be the obvious pick here, but we all know who is calling the shots in Charlotte and I just have a hard time seeing mj signing off on that. This is a roster that needs a lot and I could see them going in any number of directions. But one area of clear need is more scoring and playmaking from the wing position. I’ll go with Deni here.

Agree that Ball looks like the best player on the board, but I think Charlotte will pass as they have Graham and Rozier and will decide to focus on another part of the roster. I really liked Wiseman to them, but he’s gone. Okungwu is a good fit, but I think it’s a bit too high for him. Toppin makes sense as an older college guy, which Charlotte always goes for. But I think they are going to buck that trend and go for the international guy as it has worked out in the last few years for other teams. So my choice is Avdija.

4 Deni Avdija, 2 Obi Toppin, 1 Okongwu, 1 LaMelo.

I was not expecting this. Still have time to put your answers down.

Deni Avdija will be recoreded as the #3 Pick to the Charlotte Hornets. Still feel free to put who you think will be taken #3.
