OhCanada-ParticipantI’m curious to hear your thoughts on Cam Whitmore and GG Jackson. I’d say Leonard Miller is being slept on here other than that theres not much to pick on.
I’ll be posting my mock probably a day before the draft because theres some questions I have.
-Alot of it has to do with Toronto. Theres like 10 players that I wouldn’t be surprised or even upset if they picked, they could trade up or down, they could trade Siakam.
-There doesn’t seem to be a pecking order for this classes guards and its gonna just come down to who teams like. Anthony Black I see falling maybe out of the lottery. I think teams may prefer Wallace but I’m unsure.
-Keyontae George is who I’ve had falling but then I thought well thats a tough conference he played in and what if his shooting percentages aren’t really representing his skill.
-People seem to be high on Bufkin but I don’t think he has the vision to be a lead guard. I feel like its a glaring weakness of his. And his shooting is not quite proven either.
– I feel like OKC is going to target Ryan Rupert in a trade and for some reason I think Atlanta will be the team to help them.
-Lately I’ve been feeling like Brandin Podzimenski is being slept on and don’t see him falling out of the top 20.

NorrinRaddParticipantI agree with most you said… I think Bufkin needs the right team fit, but he could be better than you think. Infact, I’ve had my own if I were GM big board. It looks different than the intel based big boards I’ve been posting. The ones I’ve been posting is more of a guess on draft ranges. Without intel though, it looks more like:
1 – I mean he’ s WEMBY!
Victor Wembanyama2 – Scoot is at least an All-Star player someday. Upside to be more.
Scoot Henderson3 – These prospects are so good they can make an All-Star of All-Defensive team someday.
Cam Whitmore
Jarace Walker
Amen Thompson
Ausar Thompson
Brandon Miller4 – Draft pretty high – as these are starting impactful prospects.
GG Jackson
Sidy Cissoko
Bilal Coulibaly
Anthony Black
Leonard Miller
Cason Wallace
Taylor Hendricks5 – Draft in the first round unless intel says a prospect falls in your lap. Chance to start.
Noah Clowney
Dereck Lively
Emoni Bates
Tristan Vukcevic
Brandin Podziemski6 – Draft if outside the top 20. Rotational players with specialties in their bag.
Dariq Whitehead
Rayan Rupert
Gradey Dick
Keyonte George
Brice Sensabaugh7 – Grab in the second unless it’s end of the first screaming fit. Rotational players.
Nick Smith
Amari Bailey
Jordan Walsh
Julian Phillips
Chris Livingston
Jett Howard
Kobe Bufkin
Jalen Hood-Schifino
Jazian Gortman
Mouhamed Gueye
Maxwell Lewis
Mojave King
Olivier Maxence-Prosper
Kris Murray
Seth Lundy
Trayce Jackson-Davis8 – Carve out a reserved role, draft especially in second round.
James Nnaji
Terquavion Smith
Colby Jones
Julian Strawther
Andre Jackson, Jr.
Ben Sheppard
Ricky Council IV
Jalen Wilson
Sir’Jabari Rice10 – Scoop up if not drafted, if trading back possibly draft in the second round
Tosn Evbuomwan
Isaiah Wong
Marcus Sasser
Toumani Camara
Kobe Brown
Cam Shelton
Drew Peterson
Souley Boum
D’Moi HodgeThat’s kind of how I think prospects will pan out that is before they’re selected on a team. I flipped on this board because intel told me to put Emoni Bates as a fringe prospect due to haters. Podziemski wasn’t getting the love he is suddenly either. Seems like intel caught up to me with Podz. (for the most part) This isn’t a realistic big board because of how consensus views prospects. But it’s how good I think prospects will impact pre draft. Of course post draft would be different board based on projected opportunity and fit.
Cam Whitmore is the real deal though. Anthony Black could slip, but doubt it’s out of the lottery. If I’m the Raptors and I’m sitting at 13, I’m looking forward to drafting a few prospects that fall in my lap. Cason Wallace, Anthony Black, Dereck Lively, Keyontae George, Brandin Podziemski. One of those prospects should be on the board by 13.
I’ve heard a mixed bag of thoughts on how good this draft class is. Many say it’s actually weak outside the top 3-4 prospects. I disagree. I think this class will at the end of the day have 30-40 prospects that stick some way. It’s going to be interesting to see how the draft ends up.
OhCanada- Looking forward to checking out your mock.
Zouldiers Djurisic withdrew his name from the draft. You are sleeping on Leonard Miller a bit. I do like your big board overall a lot though. Different than others I’ve seen. Original.0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/20/2023 - 8:07am #1260784
ZouldiersParticipantI’ve been sold on Cam Whitmore since U18. Great size, elite athlete and has shooting to boot along with defensive upside. GG Jackson in my opinion is a top 5- top 10 talent but his NBA role is what keeping him down on the boards and mocks. Miller, I just don’t see it with him tbh, solid role player right away, heck of a rebounder and inside scorer for sure but until he can be consistent with his shot and defense, he’ll be just Marvin Bagley III

HitsterParticipantCam has great size and strength for a rookie and has an NBA ready body as well as being one of the younger guys in the class. Detroit seems a natural fit to me for him.
There are a lot of guys who could go anywhere from about 8th to 20th. Leonard Miller I’d have had as a late first rounder last year and with another year under his belt I think he merits being a first rounder.
Rayan is a guy I’m still not sure where to place he could fall towards the bottom of the first round but Orlando at 11 with their history of taking bigger guys with impressive wingspans could take an upside swing at him. Also could Spurs look to get another first rounder to take him and develop him alongside Wemby.

HitsterParticipantWelcome back man, we just need Leroy Jenkins to return now.
Fewer people posting but still so of us old timers and some very knowledgable newer members.

NorrinRaddParticipantand… “new” could also be perspective, as it’s possible most of us have been around for years, but over the years people made new accounts from losing their old accounts over time. Otherwise we’d see a lot more Krypts here like coach wyers or 7chakras or something… hehehe. I wonder what level Super Saiyan Wemby is this year… Probably a level 4 Saiyan as a rookie with a spirit bomb in his bag… KAMEHAMEHA!
