Clarkston to Michigan's Class A state title, junior point guard
Foster Loyer ended the season as one of the hottest names on the high school basketball circuit nationally.
Last week, Loyer was named to the MaxPreps All-American fourth team and Junior All-American first team. The 5-foot-11 Michigan State commitment averaged 25.1 points, 6.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game on the season for the 27-1 Wolves.
The son of former Detroit Pistons interim coach John Loyer, Foster drew rave reviews for his performances at the Breslin Center in the Class A semifinal and final.
Against West Bloomfield in the semis, the future Spartan went for 32 points, seven assists and three rebounds as Clarkston won 78-38.
One night later in the Class A state championship game, Loyer outshined future Michigan State teammate Xavier Tillman with 29 points, five rebounds and three assists as Clarkston beat Grand Rapids Christian 75-69.
