Jalen Suggs scored 40 points to lead Minnehaha Academy to an 86-74 upset of Class 4A, No. 6 Hopkins at the Augsburg Holiday Classic.
The freshman scored 24 points in the first half to help the Class 2A, No. 2 Redhawks take an 11-point lead into halftime.
The Royals got to within four points a couple of times in the second half, but the Redhawks answered every comeback attempt. The closest the Royals got was 72-68 with under five minutes to play on a jumper from Simon Wright.
Ishmael El-Amin had 24 points to lead the Royals but fouled out with 8:36 left in the game. Wright finished with 17 points for the Royals.
Along with Suggs' 40 points, the Redhawks got 17 from Terry Lockett, 15 from Lorenzo Smith and 10 from Kaden Johnson.

Holy Family 1, Lakeville North 1 (OT): Carter Springer stopped 48 shots, including 23 in the third period and overtime, to help the Class 2A, No. 9 Panthers tie the Class 2A, No. 6 Fire in the Sports Authority Holiday Class in St. Louis Park. Max McGlade got the Panthers on the board first at the 6:01 mark of the third period. But, Mack Byers scored a power-play goal for the Fire 2 minutes, 37 seconds later. Jared Moe stopped 25 shots for the Fire.
Minnetonka 4, Wayzata 1: TJ Rogers scored two goals to lead the Class 2A, No. 12 Skippers past the Class 2A, No. 18 Trojans in the consolation semifinal of the Schwan's Cup Gold Division. Jack Bowma, Rogers and Jack Bayless scored for the Skippers in a 6:59 span in the second period. Jack Carlson got the Trojans on the board with 2:20 left in the third period. Charlie Glockner stopped 32 shots for the Skippers.
East Ridge 2, Orono 0: Nick Stearns stopped 36 shots to lift the host Raptors past the Class 1A, No. 13 Spartans. Tanner Stafne and Carter VanDenEinde scored for the Raptors.
