SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantIf you care at all about the Olympics at all I highly recommend watch the latest episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumble. That shit is eye opening and sickening.
On a different note did anyone see that missed 360 Bron tweeted about wwwooooowwww then durant giving the trey before Lowry shot hahaha

Hype MachineIf that DeRozan dunk went down, we’d be debating where it sits in the top 10 dunks all time. Damn…just an inch away too.
In other news, an understrength Aussie team has beaten Argentina in their first warm up match for the Olympics, despite missing a few NBA guys like Bogut, Ingles, Simmons etc. Pretty impressive given lack of preparation and the vocal Argentinian crowd.

2quick4uParticipantderozan is the closest thing to kobe, if he just was a little hungrier and had another mindset…

2quick4uParticipantyes, closest thing to kobe in terms of offensive game. you can see how derozan has studied kobe’s game and every year resembles more and more.. the problem is he doesn’t have kobe’s heart and even less his assassin mind..but still i think he has made a major improvement since he entered the league.

SlickBouncePassParticipantDerozan has a sweet midrange game. Beyond that, there is no way he is as silky smooth as Kobe in all aspects of his game. Derozan is mechanical, muscled up, Kobe was never "bulky", he was just smooth.
Kobe was a natural, he didn’t need to bulk up to be a force, he was again, silky smooth. Derozan is way more mechanical and also his shot isn’t as nice, not near the passer Kobe is either.
Child please.

steviechillzParticipantSo there is a MAJOR difference between being the “closest thing to Kobe” and using a pump-fake to get off a leaning jump-shot…

2quick4uParticipantbeing considered the closest thing to kobe doesn’t mean he is "as good as", it just means that from all the players out there he’s the one that resembles more to him..
like derozan has said not long ago: "he meant everything, i try to emulate (him), learn so much from him ever since i was a kid".. and he keeps saying: "i try to always figure out places and movements and understand rotation from every position on the court, it’s really like studying, i think i kind of got that from kob"..and he ends with: "I’ma tell him i need every move he has, everything i do in the post i took from bryant"..
it’s not just derozan’s words, you don’t have to be a lynx to see that in lasts years he’s been adding kobe’s moves to his game to a point where they have many similarities..he’s got that post game, that footwork, that midrange game with jumpers, pump fakes, floaters, eurosteps, he’s improved significantly his creation for others and passing ability and ability to get to the rim and draw fouls averaging 8.4 FTA with a 85%..and has improved his FG% from 41,3% to 44,6% while scoring 3 more points..
his next challenge is to raise a little that FG% to 46% while scoring 24-25ppg, improve his 3P shooting and of course improve his defense..
i think right now he looks a lot like young kobe, of course saving distances, when he had no 3P shoot and was still trying to assimilate MJ’s moves..
but i don’t think it’s disrespectful at all for kobe to say that derozan is the closest thing to him..in fact at just 26yo, he’s an all-star and one of the best scorers in the game while playing for one of the best teams in the league..and oh! he’s part of the US team..
the player that is being compared to a legend shows the greatness of that..MJ is the greatest and that’s why he has someone like kobe comparing to him..the greatest players cannot be compared to anything before and it happens that they revolutionize the game making it evolve..
in my opinion derozan is the player that compares to kobe, wich is not bad at all considering that derozan is still only 26 and hasn’t even got into his prime..
