HaleParticipantI think that some peoples favorite teams are pretty clear, especially if it’s in their username but I want to know why they are your favorite team. If it is just because you live in that state or used to live there, don’t post. I want to hear an actual reason. I will start by saying that I live in Minnesota, and I am a Suns fan, they have been my favorite team since the drafted Amare Stoudemire. Before then I didn’t have a favorite team.

R-Dot-13ParticipantOther than the Raptors..
I also love the Thunder.
They are a good, young athletic team, and are very fun to watch.
They have great young players in Westbrook, Durant and Green, and now they have added Harden and Mullens, and have Ibaka as well, they should be competing for a high playoff spot in a couple years.
Watch them have a better season this year possibly getting the 8th or 9th spot in the west.0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/21/2009 - 11:33am #186555
BasketballGuru24Participantwell im just 17…….and i actually started watching ball with my dad in the jordan days, but when the lakers won their championship against philly is when i started to love basketball, and whats memorable to me is when robert horry hit a game-winner against the Kings….and shaq and vlade both tipped the ball back and it land right in his hands….but yea memorable moments makes you like a team

llperezAnd don’t call me a bandwagonner either. I started watching in 1992, right after all the good players left and I was left with Vlade, Sedale Threat, and an old a.ss James Worthy.

UltimatekingsfanParticipantIve been a kings fan ever since i was a little kid, and it broke my heart wen in the western conference finals in 2001-2002 i believe, the reffs were corrupt and in game 6 called like 20 something fouls on the kings and got the lakers to the line and thats pretty much how they won the game and the series, worst called game in the history of the NBA, everyone knows it, 2001-2002 or 2000-2001 i cant remember, the Sacramento Kings, the REAL NBA champions!!!!!!!!!!!

RickyRubio9ParticipantI live in Houston and when I first started watching I loved how everyone was getting pumped about Yao Ming coming over here. So i became a big fan of Yao… I started watching around the time we drafted him. Then trading Francis really really hurt me…but I got over it. I’m no racist, but my favorite players aren’t black…I mean I love Iggy and A.I’s game, but my favorites are Yao, Rubio, Morrison, and Scola. Oh, and I’m born in Houston. haha. I just love the Rockets now no matter what. I have a few players also that I like to watch, but I wouldn’t call them my faves.

samsonpeParticipantfrom toronto so i didnt have a hometown team to cheer for for years. I was a spurs fan from maybe age 5, dont know why, just loved the admirals game, avery johnson’s leadership with the ball, sean elliots clutch 3’s from the corners, and once they got duncan it took off from there, whats not to like about the twin towers, i modelled my game off of the spurs fundemental, team oriented approach and it has served me well at all levels of play. but since the raps came into the league my alliegence have definatly turned, hometown syndrom, were serious about our teams here in toronto. adding hedo to the mix and dumping some of our wing players has the raps looking pretty good this year (even if a little less financially flexiable for ’10), not quite upper echelon in the east, but knocking on the door, what do you guys think about their prospects for this upcoming year?

llperezjust playin man. I actually moved to sac in august of ’02 right after that series. 7 years there, and I have learned to give the Kings some love. And I’m white by the way, perez is my secret computer identity.

maravich44ParticipantCrazyknicksfan never mentioned FRAZIER, but I’ll bet I’m the only other person old enough to have actually seen him play. I was a very young kid though. And does anyone else on this site old enough to even know who Sweetwater is?

knicksfreakParticipantHow old are you crazy knicks fan? I’m obviously a knicks fan. I grew up watching Ewing, Starks, Oakley but Mason was my favorite. I had a kiddy Knicks locker with #14 on it. I then loved Marcus Camby and Spree. LJ’s 4 point play still runs through my mind constantly. Since Camby and Spree left I’ve clung onto young prospects such as Ariza, Lee, and Chandler waiting patiently until the Knicks get a new star to fill the void left by Ewing. I know alot about the 71 Knicks but I didnt watch them personally.
