joecheck88ParticipantThey aren’t playing well right now and looks like they will be a lottery team. So if I’m the Bulls, this is what I would do. I draft Patrick Patterson with my lotto pick(assuming it’s out of the top 5), because the guy can hit the midrange jumper and is pretty tough down low. I don’t know how people feel about him as a player but I see most people are happy with Jazz letting Boozer go so Millsap can step in full time. I see Patterson atleast as good as Millsap. Then I try to sign Amare, because in the East he can play center against anyone except D12. Then I try to pick up a guy like Kyle Korver or Jason Kapono who can hit the 3. I try to trade hinrich(even if it is a downgrade talent wise, I would get rid of him for a cheaper guy). And let tyrus thomas go(or trade him for anything)
So dou you think Patrick patterson could be better than Millsap?
Do you think Amare would be a good center in the east? and a good fit for the bulls?Potential lineup:
PG- Derrick Rose, Need a good backup(Hinrich or Thomas trade)
SG- Kyle Korver, john Salmons for scoring off the bench(or someone from a trade or Hinrich or Thomas)
SF- Luol Deng, James Johnson
PF- Patrick Patterson, Taj gibson
C- Amare Stoudemire, Joakim NoahWhat do you think? I think they can be good next year, but who knows.

dmo21Participantwouldnt you start salmons because he is a better defender and all round player, and then avekorver come off the bench as a scorer..

joecheck88ParticipantIf it were me I would have salmons come off the bench and score against other teams starting unit. And with korver starting it spreads the floor better for Rose and Stoudemire. You would hesitate to leave korver defending the pick and roll more than you would salmons.

GrandmamaParticipantI’d rather draft someone like Xavier Henry or Evan Turner, and try signing Chris Bosh. A line up like this would be legit.
Rose
Henry or Turner
Deng
Bosh
Noah0 - Posted on: Wed, 12/16/2009 - 10:54am #239047
joecheck88ParticipantI like Xavier henry for the bulls more than Evan turner. I just feel with Chris Bosh they would be way too soft on defense. Now Bosh is a real hard worker and rebounds real well(better than Amare at that) But with Bosh, Noah and Gibson they just aren’t really strong. I want some bulk down low. That’s just my opinion. but yes that lineup would be legit as well. Even with that lineup I still think you need to get rid of hinrich and Thomas, agreed?

JoeWolf1I agree that Chicago should trade Hinrich and Thomas this season, I think Patterson is very NBA ready and could come in and give you 12 and 8, but from a draft standpoint I think Chicago would be better off drafting Greg Monroe if they were going to address their needs at power forward. Noah is a good defensive center, but they need someone who can score next to him. Monroe is extremely versitile, and at 6’11” 250 his size would make up for Noah being slightly undersized. Chicago getting Bosh or Boozer is still up in the air, but if they were going to address their pf needs in the draft I’d say go for Monroe. I agree with trinajoe too though, if they go for a sg I think Xavier Henry would be a good pick for them. Salmons just isn’t playing up to his ability and Henry could fill that void some of the void as a shooter Ben Gordon left behind.

joecheck88ParticipantYa, I don’t like Greg Monroe too much, i don’t know why, he is real good but I just don’t see anything special. maybe he could be a less athletic chris webber but I think that is an at best scenario. I agree patterson could give 12 and 8 right away but i think he could be a solid low post option in the near future(like 17 and 9). I agree patterson’s ceiling isn’t as high as monroe’s but I think he is more of a sure thing. As far as Salmons, I completely agree that he isn’t being as productive as he should. I think they could keep him around but i like him better as a sixth man kind of guy.

joecheck88ParticipantAnd also I haven’t seen Xavier play much so I am still skeptical about him. that’s why im not so sure about them drafting him. He could be great I just haven’t been able to form an opinion on him yet.

WritingNBA.blogspot.comParticipantI’ve seen most of his games. This what I took from it:
Major Potential
Scoring comes easy to him
Stoic and cocky demeanor
Has a Carlos Boozer ora about him
Straighten arrow
Great shooter
Powerful arms
Solidified top 5 shooting guard in 3 years0

WritingNBA.blogspot.comParticipantGreg Monroe only performs when the camera is on, from what I see. I watched one of his games prior to the ESPN tournament and he wasn’t that vibrant; though, the next game they had was on ESPN, Monroe looked energized and he had a good game against Butler.

JoeWolf1I guess my beef with Patterson is that I feel he is a slight upgrade for Gibson. Patterson is 6’9” 235 and Gibson is 6’9” 225, and as a starter Gibson is averaging around 11 and 7 while blocking more shots than Patterson could at a pro level, and I think Gibson would be best suited as a 6th or 7th man. I feel although Monroe may not be as NBA ready he would be bringing something new to the table, he is bigger, more versitile and is a great post passer. Just stay away from Ed Davis, I think he is Tyrus Thomas part 2.

WritingNBA.blogspot.comParticipantAgreed J.W.1. To me, I wouldn’t draft Patterson if we’re talking about the Bulls. He’s another utility guy, his level is intermediate. I don’t expect him to be great or… suck. I like him on a team like Denver or Indiana, because his role is already defined. He’s going to shoot spot-ups about 30% of the time and the other 70% will be spent on hustle plays.

WritingNBA.blogspot.comParticipantI agree with the Xavier Henry concept. Think about it, Chicago is in rebuilding and they need to maximize Derrick Rose’s penetrating ability. Last year wasn’t a fluke for Derrick, more of Ben Gordon being there was the reason he played so well. You can’t take Ben Gordon ability away from the team and expect oppositions to not collapse on Derrick. Xavier Henry, in my opinion, might be the most talented guard to step into the NBA at his weight class. I’ve never seen a 18 year old look the frame of Xavier. For his sake, the NBA should stay away from testing for steroids.

Russell0WestbrookParticipantI say take Henry with thrie top pick and then trade late in the first round and get Sidney or Cousins and build through the draft the way the blazers and thunder are doing. Henry is a great shooter and he has great size for a 2 guard and he defends well with taking him you have the luxury to bring salmons or deng off the bench. Also this is a lost season its time to give james johnson more minutes to see what they reall have in him they are pretty young you can waste a year. Last resort is get boozer, but whatever they do, they dont need a bigman who cant get his own buckets that is hurting their team.

Russell0WestbrookParticipantNo more hustle bigmen for the bulls they have enough already. trade tyrus for a mid to low first round pick!

WritingNBA.blogspot.comParticipantNoah is putting up numbers and it’s 95% hustle. They need someone like Al Jefferson at the Power Forward, to slot along Noah in the long-run. Gibson is doing fine at Power Forward, for now. Tyrus Thomas is the unknown commodity at this point. The most urgent need is that perfect Shooting Guard. Salmons has been the anti-Gordon for them. He’s struggling to crack 13 points per game.

joecheck88Participantyea i could be wrong, i just think patterson can score down low. he is strong with long arms and while he may not block shots, i think he strong and crafty enough to keep other bigs off balance. i dont like big men with potential like monroe and davis. but i do agree with staying away from davis. i like monroe enough and think he could fit the bulls but in my opinion patterson can be just as good as a carlos boozer/elton brand(pre injury). pretty sure boozer is only 6’8. i think he is listed as 6 10 but i dont think so, ill double check combine results if i can find them.

gatorheelsParticipantTyrus Thomas is better than a mid 1st round pick. I wouldn’t trade him anywyas but if the Bulls did they could get more than that for him I think.
Plus for all those that say Hinrich is such a great defender: Did you see him get abused by Kobe last night? haha wow. Kirk does try hard on defense though I’m just giving him a hard time. But man he isn’t worth nearly as much money as he is getting paid! I wish the Bulls would trade him but no team wants to take on that contract.

quincey hodgesnaw monroe performs even without cameras trust me. hes just not the ra ra dunk on you shoot alot type player. hes the most skilled out of all the big men in college now as far as post moves mid range long range and second and thir go too movies but hes so talented that you are always gonna be expecting more like with odom. as far as starting kyle kover at the 2 youre just asking to get lit up and if salmons is gonna play with youre second unit im pretty sure the other team will have a starter or 2 to make sure he doesnt bring the bulls back into games when there starters are out. i like pat patterson though but i wouldnt draft yet another pf with thomas and gibson there. gibson is player very well. the best player in my opinion for them to draft is henry or turner

WritingNBA.blogspot.comParticipantThere’s no doubt Monroe is the most skilled big-man in the forefront of College Basketball. His biggest demon is passion – or so it looks. Tyrus Thomas is a top 5 help-side shot-blocker in my opinion. He was coming into his own before he got injured, so I’m excited to see what he does next week – his schedule return from injury should be next week. Due to covering Bulls management, my gut feeling is they’ll go Evan Turner direction, if they had to choose between the two – Xavier and Evan. Who knows – I mean, Xavier is the right fit. Are y’all keeping a close eye on the desperation of scoring in Chicago, my god, letting Gordon go was hazardous from the start. You don’t let Gordon leave and throw that type of pressure on a 20 year old whom prefers not to score – let me rephrase that – it isn’t in his nature to score. Rose whole game consist of making his teammates better – that’s what Point Guard do, right?
